| Quote: Rogues Gallery "Correct, and Roberts should never have been sin binned. Pryce dummied the tap twice and then tapped it. Roberts then made the tackle.
I agree with Mugwump that we were on a warning and the next penalty in all probability would have been a binning, but you can't pre judge and bin someone for a non offence.'"
Correct, I genuinly think Roberts thought he could make the tackle, it certainly wasn't a professional foul, just a misunderstanding.

| am i right in thinking that all superleague coaches meet up with cummmings pre season to discuss any changes to the rules of the game,i know it has happened in previous seasons.it brings me to say one thing all coaches know what the rules are and if some coaches are to short sighted not to coach the rules to the max to gain an advantage over the opposition then im sorry but they arent the right person for the job, wheather we like it or not we are in a results based business and im sure a coaches job description is to win as many games as possible within the rules, and if the team cross the line the coach knows what the outcome will be

Yes I have and he moved to his right and moved his shoulder in. It's very clear. Watch again if you feel the need.
And I really do not know which professional foul you are talking about btw. If that is what happened then whoever it was who did it should have been binned. I don't like cheating, whichever side does it.

Would that not be when Lockers picked the ball up from the scrum and ran from the half way line, the Saints tackler was then penalised in the corner for holding down while the defence was reset. This is often deemed as a professional foul and ten minutes on the side line follows. I have not yet watched the game again but it also looked like a trip from where I was standing, accidental???

I really don't know. I was at the match and I watched it back on TV but I neither saw nor heard reference to Saints committing a professional foul. I'll just have to take your word on it!

Um, you might not have noticed but this is a thread on the Saints board. I would suggest, regardless of whether any Saints fans on here are 'humiliating' themselves, you look like a particular pratt because you keep coming on our board. We're entitled to 'humiliate' ourselves on our own board if that is what we wish to do.
Meanwhile, onward to Cas ...

That's the one.
I see no one is agreeing with the Roberts sin binning when it is clear that Pryce dummied and then actually tapped the ball before Roberts made the tackle

I think Thaler had a good game to be honest.

Um, they may not be agreeing with it on your board, but that's not the case here. The sin binning was spot on. He should have left alone but he didn't.

He didn't have a good game, he was poor. And I mean poor for both teams. He missed forward passes, high tackles and the holding down was a disgrace by both teams.
Yes, Wigan do lie on and slow the play the ball down but if they get away with it then good on them. They are playing to the rules as the ref dosnt blow up.
It's not poor play by Wigan at all, it's clever play but it's poor by the refs.
I also think saints did a lot of holding down as well but not as bad as Wigan and hudds. It's not down to the clubs to stop it, it's down to the RFL.

I really don't understand the sin bin of Roberts, Pryce sets up to play, stops and complains about Mossop encroaching. Then plays the ball with his left foot on the floor, Roberts touches him and pulls back, Pryce then plays the ball a second time and Roberts grabs Pryce's arm as passing. Whistle goes and sin bin.
As far as I am aware playing the ball with the foot can be done once and dummying is not allowed either from a penalty or in general play. I don't get what Roberts did wrong, he moves to tackle a player who has played the ball and stops thinking the ball was not played, Pryce plays again and Roberts grabs his arm. I don't see at any point in this sequence of events where Roberts did anything which would be penalised, nevermind a sin-bin.

| Actually, I think Wigan's tactics were a little bit better than just "slow the play-the-ball down".
I think the tactic of "awesome defence" worked well, as well as "when attacking the line run at Wilkin, he'll tackle high for a penalty".
I reckon he gave away EIGHT penalties by himself, FOUR of which were for high tackles. To manage that without a binning must be a record.
Other tactics that worked were "Don't let Eastmond run the show" and "Cunningham's only big and heavy so don't let him be a threat to our tryline".
I think Thaler let Saints get away with a lot more than he let Wigan.

Ah, Fishta. It's you and your wild posts again. I'm so glad normality is restored. You are once more talking bollox.
