Pete normally gets things right. His team selections are pretty close and the transfer stuff is usually accurate too. Dont confuse his wish list with when he post something as about to happen ...

As I posted in the rumours thread before, I've been told he's signed by one player and told its now on ice by another.
So I don't know what's going on, the guy that told me he'd signed as never once been wrong yet but I'd also expect t the player player to be in the loop.
I can say for 100% fact that McManus, Brown and Manu met few Sunday's back (I was told the deal was agreed there and then)

We just going to have to wait until its officially confirmed where he's going.
If saints have pulled out at this stage then IMO it's shocking, we've basically left him in limbo after he was prepared to up his family and move to saints.

| When i first read about the possibility of Manu signing i was somewhat put out due to his age, and i must admit its still nags away at the back of my mind that we may be getting a player who is over the hill so to speak.
However i also remember the signing of another 32 year old forward Kevin Ward. Who had a real indian summer with Saints.
Looking at Manu's stats this year they are better than any other Saints forward.
Soliola for example is our top tackle buster in the pack with 25, Manu has made 60, which is way better than our best players stats.
Manu has also made 9 clean breaks which is more than any other Saints player bar James Roby who has 10.
Interestingly the top clean break merchant at Hull is Jordan Turner with 12. A player Saints are also rumoured to be after.
Manu is also hard working in defence being one of the top 4 tacklers at Hull, while being a clean player when it comes to giving away penalties. 15 other players at hull have been worse for giving away penalties.
He also loves to offload with 30 so far this season. Thats 10 more than Roby at Saints and more than double the next best player at Saints. He is in the top 10 in SL for offloading.
If Manu does sign for Saints then even if he starts to drop off a bit in performance. He will still be better than any of the forwards we currently have.

Take a look at the Gilly situation too, I must admit at the time I though we may have made the correct call given his age etc but he has proved with his performances that letting him go and keeping the likes of Ned was a poor choice. Hindsight is a wonderful thing

We got rid of Gilmour at the right time.
Dont get all this Flannery hatred. He has been one of our most consistently good forwards over the last few years.
Far better than Soliola who was a liability until this season.
As for Stats well this season Gilly has made just 550 metres compared to Flannerys 785
Flannery has made 333 tackles with just 17 misses
Gilmour made 253 tackles 15 misses
Flannery 8 tackle busts Gilmour 5
Flannery 4 clean breaks Gilmour 1
Flannery 4 tries Gilmour 1
A classic case of fans looking over the garden wall and thinking the grass is always greener in the other garden.

| Flannery is a very good player who will be missed next year. He lacks a bit of mongrel but so does a lot of this pack unfortunately, someone like Manu would be ideal to replace him. Interesting development if true as I've been told he's signed already so I'm not sure there's much room to maneouvre.

You're not seriously suggesting the intensity of the two games are sufficiently close to think Manu stands an equal chance?

When I did a head to head stat on the super league website (when it had the head to head) in manu and sia, manu blew him out the water in everything. Meters, breaks, tackles, off loads etc
The only sticking point for me is the length of the deal.
