| I would be very happy to pay £1 per game more , IF that £1 was guaranteed to be to pay transfer fees to bring in better players - not to go on wages of our current wasters

Good idea. I would be perfectly willing to add £100 to mine if it meant we'd chase trophies every season.

| Signing a player of Chase's quality would instantly lift the spirits of the club, the fans and the current players. He's exactly the type of player we need, he's the perfect fot for us - a maverick half back who could cause disciplianry nightmares but has a ridiculous amount of talent.
It won't happen but we should be pulling out all the stops to sign him. Lomax, Chase, Walsh and Roby would give us a fantastic spine to cause teams problems.

We are probably bottom of the list of teams that would buy him. We've not got the ambition to sign players of that standard.
Soward coming available was McManus worst nightmare. We'd been "searching the planet " for a halfback and then one came along.
Why didnt we go for him?
Before anyone says he's a qouta player, we could have de-registered Perry who's gone for the year with a injury.

Ambitious teams always find a way , even if it means cheating like the goons did with Fielden

I'd much rather the club come out and be honest. They should tell us they doing it on the cheap as the stadium had broke us and we've been to focused on that and not on the team at the moment.
They should tell us that's why they are signing some rubbish on and retaining players past their best.
I can live with that and not the utter BS that McManus tells us like "we will have a team to grace our stadium and "we've got the best youth in the league so we going with youth".
JUST BE HONEST WITH US!!!!!!

| There are two stumbling block to anyone signing Chase.
Firstly, he is on a massive salary at Cas. Most clubs spending to or near the cap will not be able to take him unless he is willing to take a pay cut as it would take them over the salary cap. Even if a club has players coming to the end of their contract they would have to be very high earners and (unless they are half backs) they would not be replaced.
Secondly, he cannot get a new Visa to move employers as he has a criminal conviction that is not considered 'spent' until 2015.

If we are close to the cap, we are paying our players to much!
Would he need a new visa ? He's still in this country.

Yes he would, a working Visa has to be renewed if someone changes employer. If it wasn't a problem Chase wouldn't be playing for Cas!

He is on a massive salary at Cas. Yes to be fair he is. However where does that leave Saints and Salford and all the others who have invested heavily to build new and improve existing stadiums to satisfy framing for the future. Will Cas and Wakey be replaced at the next opportunity. Leigh fit the bill and Fax and Fev have at least invested or will the farce continue. I think all fans of the game should be interested in this situation.

It's amazing how these things can become less of an issue if the right person is asking the question

| Chase's visa isn't an issue. He got one for Hull, it just didn't come through in time.

Hull were prepared to wait, player wanted to come but it became apparent the visa would never be approved, hence him nearly going back to the nrl.
