"He has handled the situation professionally and with absolute respect for the Saints, recognising what we have done for him as well as what he has done for us.
"He does not need to reassure the fans that he will give 100 per cent for the rest of the season, that is taken as read. The door will always be wide open for him at St. Helens, and with a red carpet leading to it, if James ever returns to Super League."'"
Thinly veiled? i don't think so.

| Best of luck to him - can't help but think I (even as a St Helens lad) would make the same decision in his position.
If he gives the same commitment to the Bulldogs as he has to Saints, they've signed a world class prop.

| He's a mard booty but there's no doubting his quality, you can't replace him, you can get a decent forward but i guarantee he won't be as good as the BGB.
With Tony P going too it looks like a big off season recruitment drive for the Red V.

| Quote Blobbynator="Blobbynator"He is a Saints legend in my eyes, definitely one of the best and most committed players I've seen in the Red Vee in my 19 years of watching Saints. If everyone played with his passion and ability we'd be unstoppable. He runs his blood to water every week, always plays to a high standard and his leadership, work rate, experience and ability will be badly missed.
James, you're a Saints legend and I wish you every success in the NRL. I may even watch the NRL more next season to see how he's getting on.'"
Well said Blobs. Disappointed to see him go but he's done everything over here so I can't blame him for wanting to try his hand in the best competition in the world. I wish The Big Red Machine every success.

| The ozzie press will have a nightmare, how can they put down all british players when Jammer will be ripping them to pieces every week, they'll probably discover he has a long lost ozzie ancestor

| Well we all knew it was coming but does not soften the impact especially after that awesome performance at Wigan.
Good luck to the lad, lets hope the McMannus has a few irons in the fire. Probably will not be a like for like replacement, but so long as they can opperate at half jammers capacity we will continue to be a force.
I still hold out hope for TP resigning.

| Nice to see the support
Justin Poore from Parra looks a good option.
Your thoughts.
