I think he played a mixture of Centre or Loose Forward.

Pretty sure that he was mainly a Loose Forward back when he was in the England u18s, etc.

More tries, double the tackle busts and double the clean breaks perhaps?

He'll certainly be cheaper than Shenton anyway.

He'll be on half of Shenton's wage if not less.

He has filled in on the wing a couple of times for us, and I seem to recall a brief spell at fullback once. I don't remember him flapping around, so he probably could do a job there. I'd actually prefer to see him there for us until the end of the season and use Crooks in the centres instead.

I can't comment 100% on Shenton as obviously I don't see him as much as you will, but I'd be surprised if any increases in tries/breaks are not undone by an increase in the the amount he'll cost you. Brown may well improve him, he certainly needs to from your point of view.

I expect he'll probably be cheaper too, and do a net similar job. I was just commenting to the guy who said he'll take up a big chunk of cap. If he's not cheaper than Shenton IMO you'd have been better off sticking with what you had.

I want Meli and Jones in the centres for us next year, but we need some strength & athletesism bringing the ball away from our line. Turner could add that and I know he can finish well.

hmmm not so sure. Didnt mcrae come out and say 'excellent' offers have been made to turner and manu? maybe he was spinning the yarn but i suspect that this being hull they werent shy of throwing good money after average.

'Excellent' is relative, though. He may well have an 'excellent' deal for a 23 year old club centre, but that won't necessarily put anywhere near what was also reported to be a big deal for an international centre.

As a Hull fan i'm just surprised you haven't got anything better coming through your ranks. You perpetually bring through young classy, pacey backs and I'm surprised looking at your set up already with this signing. He really is average at best and thats not sour grapes. Manu on the other hand..............

IIRC, he said excellent for Manu and 'what we consider more than fair' or similar for Turner. Can be taken a lot of ways I suppose, but any half-decent offer would be 'more than fair' for a player who has played well for a month in 3 years IMO.
