I thought Wilkin and the ref dealt with it well.
He felt a man in the tackle attacked his joint in a dangerous manner, which obvioulsy hurt him. He didn't shout, swear, scream or stamp his feet. He wasn't trying to get a man sent off on the day to gain an advantage (as the ref obvioulsy wouldn't have done this).
He spoke to the ref in a professional manner, who in turn spoke to the captain of the opposition, not the player accused. The event will be reveiwed and if Lima's guilty he'll be charged.

If we're complaining about instances like this, then we're looking for things to moan about imo.

It would appear Wilkin was correct, with Lima being charged with TWO offences!

As a one-time cheeky half back, I regularly felt let down by the referee failing to punish dirty play - 'it's all part of the game' they'd say as I picked myself up off the floor after getting decapitated in a late tackle.

Well done Wilkin. If he's risked his reputation to try to clean up our game, well done him. Isn't the game hard enough already?

Wilkin has every right to complain to the ref IMO, he felt Lima was out to do him harm as much as tackle him, im all for big hits and collisions but 'chicken wings' and deliberatly trying to injure players needs to be stamped out. Im all for the commitee having a look and if Lima is found guilty ban him. Yes and thats from a Wigan fan.

As I stated above, I thought Wilkin went about it in a proffesional manner. I guess the only way it could've been more proper would have been if he'd have asked his captain to approach the ref.

Surely if Lima has been found guilty of said offence, it vidicates Wilkin's actions anyway?

Not only that but according to one report he has pleaded guilty to them, so he acknowledges his own actions.

So I reckon all those calling Wilkin for being a winger and premadonna owe him and apology.

Also, checking his stats, he made 38 tackles on the night. Not bad for someone who's [i"more focused on watching himself on the big screen all night"[/i according to one poster.

The only thing we have learnt from this thread is that St Pete is a bit of a numpty! I'm not Wilkins biggest fan either but Jesus Christ STFU!!!

That's irrelavant to this thread. No one as the right to do chicken wing tackles. Wilkins reaction was no worse than Tomkins crying for a knock on in the second half.

Wilkin was well in his right to complain! Lima being found guilty proves Wilkin was right!
