| Can we say it was an improvement. For christ's sake stop all the negativity. If we won by a hundred people still would'nt be pleased. Don't know what they are putting in the water in st. helens but the people on this board are a bunch of miserable gits
Yes we are not the top team anymore so what, we don't have a divine right to be. We have lost some big names and young players are comming thru.
Lets see how things go after at least a dozen games before we go on the usual st. helens witch hunt.

I think we lack a happy medium - I dont think anyone will deny that it was an improvement however you need to keep things into perspective. I dont know any Saints fans that think we have an automatic right to win every game but I know many fans who believe we should play in a certain way and that way isnt 5 drives and and kick (which until the Dulls game we have been doing)
There is a fine line between negativity and realism jus like there is a fine line between optimism and blind stupidity

| Before i start i'm not Potters biggest fan, nor am i his biggest critic, and a Saints fan I am far from happy with what was served up last season by ourselves and Super League as a whole.
However i don't blame that all on Potter, 5 drives and a kick was pretty much what everyone did for all of last season due to the PTB and the teams that varied wildly from structured play won as many trophies as we did.
Like KK in football there is a fine line between playing sensible and winning or playing exciting and losing, some fans will back it, some will loathe it, the chairman will want what is best for the club if he thinks Potter isn't up to it then am sure he will sort it, we weren't exactly miles from success last season despite the boring rugby.
It could easily be argued that we didn't play attractive rugby for a large portion of Anderson's time at the helm we were just better and more efficient than everyone else at what we did (until we choked in the GF). As our stars got older and started to leave we were bound to come back to the pack, existing contracts has limited our ability to significantly change our squad and as a result we've lacked genuine pace since 2006 which has certainly affected how expansive we can be.
I couldn't go on Sunday, but without going ott even against a poor team it was a step in the right direction after Hull. It also sounded like we scored twice from distance, this if nothing else is something we have really lacked the ability to do in the last couple of years. While i won't shout about us from the rooftops after one win, i'm not going to right the season off after one loss.

I think the phrase you are looking for is "Never write the Saints off!"

| Think we must of sacked him, we played skillful, entertaining rugby and scored more than 20, Wello's 4th was a joy to watch, such a shame Sky turned up for the wrong game.

| Just watched our tries on the superleague website.
I know the Bulls defence has been panned by those who attended, but to me those tries were all about keeping the ball alive, offloading and playing at pace. We looked like the Saints whirlwind of old at times with numbers supporting the ball carrier.
Much better, same again next week please lads!

Can you please refrain from talking common sense on this forum please. It is not expected, I expect Potter Out and the usual cr@p that comes out of No1 Saint's trap!
Thanks in advance

Breaks were made on the fringes too - Meli nearly scored from some great quick hands to our left but was ankle tapped in the clear. Ended up leading to a try as the break has Bradford back pedalling in defence.

Apart from Kyle's interception, which he caught while defending out wide, and had absolutely nothing to do with Leon.

No, they made that long pass because they were worried about Leon's ferrocious defense. Anything to avoid him.
