I was stood todays the back of the stand near the middle. We were in good voice and I wonder if we can do something like Wigan have done with all this 'ultra' stuff.
I think with the new stadium next year it would be great if we enter it with a bang and have a great atmosphere for all of next year and after that by replicating what Wigan do but do it better. It looks really enjoyable and I reckon it would catch on fairly quick if we did it.
Thought anyone?'"
Plans for this have been under way for a long time. Details to come in the offseason!

| As long as the Rugby League ultras are kept on a seperate mentality to those in football. In football they exist as a vehicle to organise violence and have little to do with the actual football.

I know you've been in touch with a couple of our lads who organize the flags etc but your more than welcome to come to one of our meetings and I'm sure we'd be more than willing to help you and your mates in whatever way we can.

No, no they don't. Having been to game with Sankt Pauli Ultras, and CSKA Sofia and Botev Ultra groups, they don't go out to create violence. An intimidating atmosphere, yes, but not violent.
A few mindless s who attach themselves for a ruckus is not the same as groups designed like 80s firms.

We'll be down. We wanted to get it organised sooner, but there is just too much apathy at the Stobart.

But when that intimidating atmosphere happens outside the ground what happens? One set of chest banging men meets another? It's a fight.
Rugby league is a family sport, so while the colour of the flags and the chanting is okay, I don't want to see intimidation anywhere near the sport.

So we don't have people spilling their passion on the day over already.
I remember back in 05, being stood in a bar in Wigan with about 30 Saints fans, and 30 Wigan fans. All shouting and singing at one another, then walking over and chatting and drinking with other, and mid chat, joining in with another song. That is all this is.

| As long as we don't obtain a drum I don't care what we do to be honest, anything to generate an atmosphere is a good thing. Anyone planning to stand near me with a drum during a match should expect it not to be functioning by half time.

39110_1363272058.jpg Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good

sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go

Hope you get something sorted! It will be worth it.
Derby days should be even more special if we both have an Ultras group.
Hopefully you can get something good going for homegames, you have the advantage of the standing area.

| Joining in on this theme the flags look great i agree as sed the stobart stadiums a bit dead for some reason, next season we`ll get our own identity back withe the terracing behind the sticks, tho its sad to admit wigan fans do seem to leed the way

In fairness we've had the flags for years too, they just aren't as prominent at the Stobart as they were at the old girl. I honestly think the atmosphere will return once the bulk of the more vocal fans (and hopefully some new ones) return to one area at the new ground as opposed to being more sporadically situated in the seating at Stobart.

I think out flags are a little better

I really can't wait for next season, terracing will definitely be an advantage in attempt to start up an (ultra style) vocal support group.

That's one thing I wish we had at Wigan, terracing make things so much easier!
