Transparent Backgrounds/Kermit%20the%20Frog.gif Tweet from @martinoffiah 23/08/2011: 'Must admit i did love watching Saints- Cunningham Joynt Longy Tommy then Leon, last classic RL team ever'. Even the dark side can't help but love the rebellion.:Transparent Backgrounds/Kermit%20the%20Frog.gif |

Some people always used to believe the world was flat, no matter what was said. Sometimes, it is best just to let them worry about falling off the edge.

You're assuming the people worried.

| Granted its from someone who doesn't see saints every week, but Potter seems to have kept you at a similar standard (results wise) whilst losing key personell and not replacing them with new signings. Long was the heartbeat of your side, and then add that to the injuries you've had this year to finish 2nd surely constitutes a very successful season.
In my opinion the least he deserved was another year with the raft of quality signings your making. The youngsters he's developed will stand you in good stead for years to come, and your filling the gaps with quality signings.
For me, your the team to beat next year (dependant on your new coach)

Like salford's cast off Sibbet.

He isn't Daniel Anderson, isn't as emotive as Anderson and does not look as good in sunglasses.
Quote: St pete "Do you not think he's done well this year with our current injury problems?'"
No. The players have won the matches, Potter has lost all our games due to not being Daniel Anderson.
Quote: St pete "Would DA have done a better job?'"
Yes.
Quote: St pete "Do you feel he has done anything good in his 2yrs at saints ?'"
No.

You care to have a bet ? Maybe you and saintsfan can chip in together!
As you both think potter is a rubbish coach taking over a rubbish team, you can't lose!!!

| Read back over some of the threads from the first few weeks of the season and it becomes very clear very quickly who are the rational posters with a clue are and who are the knee jerkers without one.
Potter has done an incredible job this year in the circumstances, it's undeniable. That's not to say some of the latter category above won't try to, mind.

I wonder if it's ever crossed anyone's mind that he might not have actually wanted another year at Saints? He might have wanted to go back to Australia, just like he said, but there were no jobs there and so he went back to Bradford. Or maybe he wanted to go to Bradford all along but was biding his time in St Helens. Who knows?
Who cares?
Not me. I'm looking forward to seeing what Rolls can do, especially with the young guys who have settled in well to the first team, having been developed by our great youth system, one of if not the best in British RL at present.

Thought so, duly noted. 12 year olds havent really developed mentally enough to give rational explanations so I will just ignore everything you say.

I liked DA and thought he brought saints on from taking over basil but I doubt DA would have done any better than potter.
If we are all honest, the last two years has prob been our worst squads we've had since super league started.
In the past we've left big names out of our 17, this year we've struggled to get at 17 on the field.
Potter still has some great players here but just look atthe diffrence in class potter has had to work with to our previous coaches.
Potter has never moaned about lack of signings he's been able to make, never moaned about injuries, he's just got on with the job.
His first season was pretty poor at times but I think the players and potter have now adapted to each other now and it shows on the pitch.

| Sometimes it takes SaintsFan a little bit longer to come around to our way of thinking. When we post our opinions and find out perhaps we have not got a majority viewpoint as other posters, we usually rethink and usually "back off" from the topic. SaintsFan carries on regardless leaving no avenue to escape from, which ends up in tit for tat messages. He/She does have some good observations/opinions though most of the time of late.
Anyway, back on topic. What concerns me is all these signings that Bradford Bulls have made, do we assume Mick Potter is in on this with his future club and possibly not 100% focussed on Saints during the play offs, ie already working for the Bulls in some limited capacity.
