I was told last week that the deal had been completed by usually reliable source. I think that it not being the case are indeed just rumours unless he can go back on a signed contract. It could be that a contract signed means nothing before September 1st, I'm not sure but I've been told that a contract has been signed.

I suppose not, but only if the two parties agreed to scrap the contract then it could be done.

I agree a prop would be more ideal but we have no idea what the club are working on and at the moment this is just a like for like replacement. Flannery out Manu in. Same could be said in terms of Turner for Meli. The question is whether it will leave any money for another prop, or enough money for another prop?

I honestly can't see it being announced until later in the year, maybe even after the 1st September or even when either hull or saints seasons over.

It's very rare it's announced when a player has signed for another super league club. I've known 6 month in advance we'd signed players but we've not announced it officially.

Shenton and LMS had signed months before it was announced. We'd agreed to sign Leon pryce about 12 month before it came out.

Given the strong rumours about the move, it would make sense to actually announce it - wouldnt make a bit of difference.

However, there are strong rumours that he may now be staying. Met with Gentle last Monday and said he wants to stay, Gentle said that the 3 year offer has been torn up so that isnt on the table, but we have offered a 2 year deal, on less money.

Just goes to show how desperate Hull are to keep him. They know he is quality, we know it, only person that doesn't is RG cause theres a 15 year old St Judes player on a scholarship that is the next Gaz 'Ock!

If he has gone back on the deal, expect Saints to be very unhappy.
