I found the post match comment by Brown very worrying when he said " can't the knock the effort". The was no effort. It was lacklustre with no pride or passion and that IMO is the worst thing from the whole team.
Fair enough, players drop balls, bad passes, miss tackles etc and I can live with that but when a team shows no pride, passion of team spirit is what I can't accept and why I was bouncing last night. |

Thought the same myself, I,m just wondering if Brown is lacking in the Passion Department and its rubbing off onto the players. He did show some concern in the media though for the saints supporters, maybe that's because he knows the clock is ticking. |

The clock isn't ticking. He's secure in his job. But he will have noticed the booing and the fast, mass exodus so it's politic for him to try and appease the fans.
I agree on the effort comment: one of the elements of that match most at fault was the effort; the complete lack of it. The other element was Brown's stupid tinkering, which I got sick of weeks ago and which continues to undermine our chances. |

McManus will have final say on all signings but not sure if he's been picking them or listening to bad advice. On the cast off's front you are correct if some rumours are true, we just need to hope a couple of the bargin basement players turn out to be hidden gems or late developers |

I didnt even notice Beumont last night, I didnt even know he played. He should fit in well at saints. |

I was talking to an ex coach after the game and expressed my doubts regarding NB. The ex coach said he had been talking to Kieran Cunningham who Reckons Brown is the best coach that he has seen during his time at the Saints.

Sometimes that maybe because he lets quite a lot go and his staff and players are protected from mediocrity by the boss.

St Helens coach Nathan Disco Brown

"It was disappointing for the fans because we are capable of better than that. We had been building along nicely recently but we have taken a step backwards."[/i
I sometimes wonder if he's watching the same game as the rest of us. He might not be able to fault the effort but I bl00dy well can. At times I wish he'd just be honest and just say we were terrible.
Compare that to
Wigan coach Shaun Apeman Wane

"I want to commend them because Daryl Powell has done a great job while he has been there and the best team won. Castleford are the best team we have had here.
"We lacked a bit of energy and, if that is because of last Monday, then I expect us to get over that. We are better than that and it will never be used as an excuse. I still expect us to perform."[/i
The more I think about it the less confidence I have in Brown. When the players praise him it might because he's technically great or because he's a top bloke but I'd rather have a winner any day of the week.

No wonder the players praise him - who else would have asked Wello and LaFfranchi to stay on? Who else would have persevered with the old guard and kept his faith in the likes of HiHo etc? |
