Interesting....he's a big bloke, but that doesn't necessarily make him a decent prop...hopefully he can run his weight.

I was just going to say he's impressively weathered and balding for a 21 year old. From Google it seems he's highly rated, he won player of the year at student level and Conference level and has apparently turned down several Super League approaches to focus on University.

Sounds good, there is at least potential there.

Never seen Walmsley but would much rather take a punt on him than someone like Paul Wood. Cheaper and far more scope for improvement. Don't rate Wood at all.

Ditto. Wood has been around for a decade yet I'm hard pressed to think of him doing anything besides breaking bones.

Well... We are now allowed to sign players again so I would have anticipated a bit of activity as we attempt to freshen up one of the dullest squads we have had in years.

I'm not holding my breath. I badly fear Manu/Turner might be the extent of our recruitment for 2013.

So am I. But it depends on how many they release. The only confirmed departures so far are Shenton and Flannery and their salaries are certainly going to be swallowed up by Manu and Turner.

We should really have had a cull and got rid of the likes of Wello, Gardner, Meli etc to free up some funds to start to rebuild a squad, but that's still clearly not a priority for Saints. I think that behind closed doors Saints are perfectly happy with maintaining a top 5 finish and being respectible. I don't think there is any major drive to win trophies again.
