| Seems like we aren't signing Josh Griffin from Castleford. It's likely that he will sign for Leeds Carnegie RU.
Also, in the Clough thread someone has said that Clough has signed a three year deal.

Depending on the deal not nessasarily as stupid as it looks. You'd imagine that there would have to be some sort of medical before he signed. A risk but Warrington have shown that youth is not the be all and end all to winning.

| Hmm... could go either way. Could be an utter waste of money as he seems to have been found out, but could also be another Baloo or Kevin Ward signing; inspirational whilst enjoying an indian summer. Offer him a minimal wage and let him run a Subway franchise in the stadium. Bosh.

| I'd be happy if we signed Fielden in all honesty.

| Fielden? No thanks... He's been injured for nearly 2 years and has hardly performed at all for 5 years even when he has been fit. Wardy and Anderson were both still performing reasonably well when we signed them for their Indian summers so the comparison doesn't really stand. He might be worth a risk if we could get him very cheap given the lack of alternatives I guess...

| Fielden? Not worth any sort of gamble unless we are bereft of ideas. His next stop is going to be somewhere like Wakefield, Widnes or Warrington.

| I think it would be time to reconsider your season tickets if the club started making signings like that. It's not even his injury record that bothers me, it's the fact that his career ended when he was dropped by Willie Mason. He was utter rubbish for the Goons even before his two year hiatus.

| ^ That's not strictly true but then I expect you know that already. Not that I would take him on either, too much risk involved.

| If Fielden and Wood are both available, I would definately take a punt on Wood. He has a good go forward and whilst he can give the odd penalty away, he has a lot of aggression which is something our pack could do with.
Fielden was a good player 7 years ago, but as said earlier hasnt been the same since squaring up to Willie Mason and getting floored. He had a decent season a couple of years ago at Wigan, but other than that is just a has been and a crock and would rather look at younger prospects from Championship and take a risk on them than sign Fielden

| I'd like Wood. Not the best percentage player, but hard to handle and likes a battle.

Fielden injured for 2 years and hardly performed for 5 years. I think similar could have been said for one Paul Deacon at Bradford when Wigan signed him.
I'm not suggesting Fielden as a big name signing, but as another prop, he could bring more to the party than just promoting from within and on a one year deal would be no risk at all compared to some recent signings we have made.
In the end it's probably just speculation but hey that's what rumours are for.
