Very clever player, I'd be happy to have him on the staff. He won't be head coach anywhere though so could be any of the clubs.

| That list just shows the paucity of options available really (I can only assume they have mistaken Rob Powell for Darrell Powell).
McNamara, Agar, Edwards, Noble, Kear, Potter, Millward, Rush, Wellens and Long will be nowhere near it. Sheens wont give up on the Aussies to come to SL at his age (and lest we forget was removed as Wests' coach to be replaced by the dream team of Potter and Simmons, which maybe says something about his club coaching credentials).
Meninga has never really done it at club level, so would probably represent too large a risk, even if he wanted to come. After the Simmons saga, I cant see McManus appointing another unproven Aussie assistant (and I think that well has been bled dry anyway in recent years).
Which leaves: Griffin, Powell (Darrel), Anderson, Cunningham or Fairleigh as the only contenders IMO.

If Mal wanted to come over, we'd be crazy not to consider it. He doesn't have much club level coaching, but it's the same amount as Anderson when he came over, with a similar record too. Mals affect on the players is well reported and no one can doubt his record in SOO. It would hardly be gambling on an unproven aussie.

| I can't even compute the prospect of Mal coming.
I would like to DA in a director of rugby, with Daisy as head coach. We should look at getting Long onto the team, his affect on Salford's attacking game was immense and he had a massive impact on Matty Smith's career.
I'm pretty sure Long's emotional home is at Saints and it may do him a world of good to be back here if he can contribute.
KC to continue as assistant.
If Wello wants to start coaching, then he has to start with the under 15s, then in a couple of years, if he's doing well, move him up to under 19's, then if he can make a decent fist of that promote him to assistant coach. Don't let him get fast tracked like KC did, it does no good for anyone.

| Doesn't Mal own a vineyard or something and was too busy to consider it last time around.
Why would that have changed?

I think he may want to stay at home and mind the shop.

For younger viewers Greinke also played for Saints and was a budget Josh Perry of his day.

Agreed, potentially two Anderson's in contention. Not much to get excited about IMO.

| Just out of interest, alot of contributors to the forums have lamented Brown for his lack of passion, fire, enthusiasm etc.
Would people rather have an experinced coach with less passion or affinity to the club, or a coaching team that have a long standing passion for the club with less experience of being head coaches?

My only concern with Brown from the start was, would he carry on his bad choices he did at The Giants, and he did for me, for some reason I could never warm to his persona.

| I'd think about giving up watching the sport if we hired Noble or Kear. Likewise Betts, Agar and Rea. I am sure they are all lovely guys, but no, thanks.

Difficult question to answer, I think passion will only get you so far so I would go for experience. We,ve had lots of coaches over the superleague era and everyone have been different in experience, personality and passion.
We,ve has Rush full of passion no experience and Potter with experience no passion. probably the coach who has both will probably be Millward.
Brown has rarely dropped his guard in the media for me I have my own preference below who have all brought different things to the table.
1 McCrae
2 Anderson
3 Millward
4 Brown
5 Hanley
6 Rush
7 Simmons
8 Potter
