| magnificent support indeed.one fan ran on the pitch, one ejected from the stand and ended up fighting with a steward, but yes you outsung saints so well done.theres no disrespect from saints towards barrow, far from it we applauded your team off, just a lack of money, thats why the crowd was so low.

To be honest, I think that had more to do with the fact that Barrow wanted the game played on a Saturday afternoon. People work on a Saturday afternoon. At least 4000 turned up for the Toulouse match, which was rescheduled an hour late on the last minute (meaning more would have turned up if it had been played on time) on a Saturday evening. So I think the responsibility at least in part lies with Barrow. It should have been an early evening game and you would have seen that the Saints supporters respect Barrow an awful lot more than you assume.

Not really. Though there will undoubtably be a number of supporters who will have stayed away because it was 'only Barrow' we were playing, I'd have been surprised to see a larger attendance against the likes of Catalans, Crusaders, or Salford and most other Superleague teams bar Wigan, Warrington and Leeds. Bear in mind also that its a bank holiday and frankly a lot of people, and especially families with children will have decided to do other things this weekend such as going on holiday, or to a theme park etc these things cost money and the additional costs involved in going to watch a cup match this weekend (even more so for season ticket holders) simply cannot be budgeted for. Add to this the odd kick off time given the TV game and there's much more to it than the opposition.

| hiya,
was a good game, and a great day.
Tbh you guys were pretty good with us, most stayed and clapped our lads,
fight with stewards, never saw, so im not going to comment, fan running on the pitch; i belive it was her first away game, probley last, so dont wurry,
singing when eastmond went down, no, we sang through is treatment yes, but we try to adapt 80-80 rugby, which is singing for the 80 minutes, despite how happy we were for kyle to go down injured, which gave us a tiny chance game wise, we all hoped hed be okay, as with the clap as he went off
you guys should win it, and i will be cheering you on at both wembly and old trafford as always,
thanks.
And thanks for a great day.

Sorry but sod the Leeds fans (no offense) but did you see the behaviour of the Barrow fans, absolutely disgusting some of them.
To start with, their players come out - we clap, we come out - they boo, well then I saw me bum....................
Our Kyle gets injured, what happens - some of the Barrow supporters cheer and so does one of their board members who's sat up in the stands (the one with the baldy head if you wanna know who it is) thought that behaviour was absolutely disgusting. Not wanting to gloat at the end of the match and still seething because of their behaviour, me and my friend decided to blow a kiss towards the folically (wrong spelling I think) challenged gentleman in the stand, just as a bit of devilement really and he told us to 'f**k off'. So if he acts like that, doesn't say much for the fans does it???? One of their so called fans who was sat in the stand got ejected @ half time for the rants he was throwing out at us.
Surely we can't tar them all with the same brush????

| Please don't tar all Barrow fans with the same brush, unfortunatly all clubs have some numptys! Us fans had a cracking day out as you could tell with all the noise we made, can't speak about any trouble as I was concentrating on the game. When Eastmond went down, the Barrow cheer wasnt meant in a nasty way, as the applause showed when he left the field, no one wants to see any player injured.

And i've just replied to that post:
I thought the same thing when a group at the side of me, on the 40 metre line in the popular side, were jumping up and down shouting 'Get In' when Eastmond got injured. Now i realise that fans cheer when a player get injured, and every club has a majority of fans that does this, however, usually when they realise that it's a bad injury and they struggle to get up, they then keep quiet and clap the player going off the field, not this group of Barrow fans. They continued to shout 'Get In' as Eastmond is lay on the floor struggling to get up. I say a group, it was more one bloke who was shouting and swearing all game, but the group did join in when Eastmond was injured.

How can you cheer when a player gets hurt, and not mean it in a nasty way? I realise that many fans cheer when a player is hurt, but a lot of fans then realise it may be a serious injury and then clap the player off the field. Some Barrow fans did clap Eastmond off, but quite a bit group of Barrow fans on the popular side continued to shout 'Get In' as Eastmond struggled off the field, and there was one person in that group who was screaming and swearing all game for no apparent reason. However, i was under the impression that, that person didn't go often, as all the others in 'his' group had Barrow gear on, apart from him.
Barrow brought a lot of fans and great credit to them for that, however, the only thing they did was cheer every tackle they made, which surely must be quite patronising for the players? The first 20 minutes, they seemed amazed that they were able to make a single tackle, never mind compete in the game. Also, they might have been loud, but i bet the Barrow players were bored less of the constant drone of Barrow, Barrow, Barrow because thats all they sung!

Saints fans cheered at an injury to a Wigan player during the derby and many laughed heartily to Newton falling all over the show against HKR after getting a crack to the head, and that's just this season without thinking too hard.
Both times I seem to remember the cheering being defended on here.

I know what your saying, and i agree. However, i also know that fans cheer when a player gets injured, however, 9/10 people when they realise its a serious injury, then they shut up, and clap the player of the field. Its not right to cheer when a player gets injured, but i think a lot of people get caught up in the game and are glad that a team may be missing a big player due to them getting injured, but when they realise that player is seriously injured, most people then clap the player from the field. Thats what its all about, IMO.
