According to McManus in his radio interview recently, it had taken longer to secure the finances than was originally anticipated. Probably the Taylor Wimpey situation caused the delay, though that's just me speculating.

The government grant was awarded in part to build that access road but I'm not sure where it was supposed to begin on this side of the linkway?

The government grant was also for cleansing the site. That work should have started by now, or at least be starting imminently, as Pilks' lease on the bottle storage was due to end in April.

Yup, we know that.



It began life as a footbridge and became a road bridge when the stipulation was made for emergency access. I assume it's still going to carry foot traffic as well as emergency vehicles. I just don't know where the bridge was due to start from on the town side of the linkway.
