Wigan fans are obsessed with young players that it's becoming slightly worrying.

It's great if you can have a team full of homegrown but if we was to win things with a team if over 30s then I don't care.

It's not about who plays the youngest players, it's about who wins rugby games.

The fact we've had swift, makinson, wheeler, jones, Gaskell, lomax, clough, greenwood, Forster, foster, flanaghan, Magennis all young lads should have the Wigan fans jizzing in their pants.

But none of them is anywhere near as good as any of the Wigan young players, didn't ya know?

Funny thing is, wigan for the past 20 years have the biggest reputation for binning young lads in favour for older overseas players.

Its becoming a unhealthy obsession of the chompers.

Rogues is just obsessed with putting the boot in at every opportunity, that's all it is.

Rumour over here that you guys have withdrawn your contract offer to Manu and he could now be staying with us.

I hope that is true. Good player though he may be, I would much rather us give proper, structured chances to local lads who had first team experience last year.

And besides, if we need to spend money on buying players in then where we need to spend is on two aggressive props, preferably under the age of 30 so that we might just have some good years out of them.

Which of those young players that were released would you have kept, and why.

How many of them would
1) Get into the current Wigan team
2) Get into the current Saints team.

There would only be one, IMO of course.

All went on to play better when wigan let them go, yes they probably would not get into your side at present but your playing well at the minute but a few seasons ago you where rubbish pre-Maguire, and any of those players would have added something then?

I doubt it; if there was any uncertainty about our deal to him then Hull would never have announced and made it public that he's off.
