As Twentyman says, Burns's departure has nothing to do with his ability, so it's not really a worthwhile comparison. There's a discussion to be had about how we got into this position, but let's look at our current situation pragmatically: after various injuries (Walsh, Fages, Richardson, Lomax?) and disagreements (Burns) we're likely to be stuck with a half-back partnership of Wilkin/Turner for the coming weeks. Anything that can save us from being subjected to that has to be considered, IMO. I'd be happy to bring in a smart, organising half back for the last 10-15 games of the season, and Ridyard fits that bill. If it was any more long term than that, though, it would be an alarming signing.
