Kicked Joel Monaghan in the head as he was putting the ball down - looked a bad one imo.
32-12 final score

| Walsh finishes the game with a penalty kick at goal.
32 - 12
Well not quite the predicted weekend.
Pretty much all the results in our favour.
Warrington beating Leeds
Huddersfield beating Wigan
Saints top of the league.
Widnes drawing.

| All things considered a good result. A poor start, followed by a lot of disruption with injury could of seen us up against it, so it's good to see we dug out a result. Hopefully the week off next week will help us recover and push on.
Wello Walsh and Roby were the standouts

Mine too. I thought Sia and Mose put in shifts too and during the second half Turner seemed to grow an extra one.
Damn shame about the injuries, just as we were due to get some bodies back.
Makinson, LMS, Walker (knocked out), Wilkin, with a head clash between Walsh and Turner (I think), Wello was in pain at one point, I think Wheeler had his nose held up by string, Robes went down at one point. What the f*** were Salford doing to us?
After all I said about Walsh and defence be put in at least three crackin try savers tonight.
Gotta fess, that was one heck of a game we played there. It was awful in terms of skill, with just two really great tries, but in terms of guts it was up there with the best we've put in this season.

| I thought Thompson was outstanding tonight.
Did a heap of work in attack and defence, got smashed left right and centre but still kept charging it in and making yards.
Don't know how Soliola got MOM, he started off strong with a few big hits and decent runs, but once he was moved to centre to cover for injury he was repeatedly getting exposed on the right, and ended up being shifted to the left because Salford were tearing us a new one down the right hand side were he was defending.
Thought LMS did a number of big strong runs as well. He also played long minutes due to the injury
Wheeler finished the game but got his customary knock with about 10 mins left, so will no doubt be out for the next four or five weeks.

| For people who didn,t go to the game consider yourself lucky this was of the least entertaining games so far............. It was a zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz game.
Salford brought a spoiling game, referee brought a clueless game, saints didn,t exactly show any urgency.
Loads of stoppages players didn,t seem to want to pack down, tempo slowed right down for penalties, kick offs etc.
The only player to compete for 80 mins was Wellens, at least we are compensated by being top of the league.

It was Thompson whose face had been rearranged about three times.
Looked like he was enjoying it though, proper forward. The tougher it is. The more maniacal he ran in.
Those walsh tackles were down to brilliant play by Wellens. He really did position his self well to force the winger to slow down and adjust which allowed Walsh to chase back and effect the tackle.

| Mose's really looking a handful. He does struggle getting back, but going forward he can really make a dent. I enjoyed him sitting down Hock early on.
Robes and Walsh were great.
I thought Thompsn and Greenwood looked a handful, LMS pretty good and I think flash deserves a shout - usual uncompromising defence but showed quite a bit going forward.
Generally, the positive for me was that we reLly got stuck into them when defending. Negative was that we could get the ball wide with any quality - the Hohaia - Wellens link up was very unconstructive for pretty much every play except Wello's 2nd try.

Oh was it? I;m as blind as a bat stood squinting in the West Stand when they get down to the far end! I need to invest in some binoculars! I'm impressed by Thompson though I have to say he is the only one of our young forwards that stands out to me (Savelio aside).

Yes, but Walsh still made the tackles and not all of them were with Wellens' help. I could see THAT much!
Tonight was a team effort; a real gutsy win. I disagree with Judder Man. I have no idea which game he was watching but it definately wasn't the one at Langtree Park!

Yeah, last week our attack looked back to its old self; this week our defence did!
Wello isn't the best attacking fullback and Hohaia never thinks to do something himself when he gets the ball, which has been passed to him for a reason. A nifty grubber or something (which I know he can do) would help but he just passes the ball on.
