| This might seem a little petty after that performance but I wish Masoe would play the ball properly. He just throws it under his legs. We got trounced today but in a closer game silly, lazy play the balls like that will cost us.
There was a lack of aggression from our lads today. Turner was terrible 2nd half, and Dawson was a liability in defence.

| Quote: No1 Saint "Soft is the word I'd use too. Mose and Walmsley are impact props and very good at it, LMS is just a flat track bully'"
It's been glaringly obvious we need another prop as this season as gone on. As much as I like Walmsley he's not a starting prop. We need a prop to start with Amor that can put in a good solid 30 mins and is capable of matching fire with fire against the likes of Wigan. Then when Amor and the other prop has softened up their forwards we bring Mose and big Alex on.
In games this year when Alex and Amor off the field we've lost the forward battle and we can't keep doing that.

| Turner will be getting the stick for missing some tackles, but the key issue was infield
I noticed that O'Loughlin at Wigan was running at the line, stopping then shifting the ball left.
By running at our line, it caused our defence to compress inwards.
Soliola in particular was getting drawn tight in, and was then struggling to adjust on the slide outwards. Something that he has always been weak at.
This helped create 3 on three and even four attackers on three.
Having a back rower running at Walsh then caused a complete mismatch.
Turner was then caught in two minds as to who to tackle and ended up being exposed.
Eventually Saints realised what was happening and moved Soliola away from defending on the Saints right and put Greenwood there to defend that side. This tightened things up a bit, but the damage had already been done.

| Those of you who recorded the game it's worth listening to Brown's interview at the end before you delete it.
There were a few harsh words directed at several un-named players.
I thought it was an excellent first half, Lomax was ripping our wide defence to shreds, we were playing well and creating although I felt like there was more to come from St Helens. something changed at half time. Dunno if it was something Wane said or did tactically or something Brown didn't do but the second half was a very dominant display. We also got that bit of luck needed, the St Helens player done for crossing was correct but if he'd caught it a second later it would have been ok, Farrell's try was a bit of a fluke but that's just the way it goes sometimes.

Thanks god. Not sure if i'd like to run with Jones though? Glad to hear Savelio could play however.

Wigan changed defensive tactics out wide, instead of rushing in and up they slide across just like the 2nd half against huddersfield.

I felt who ever tightened up their defence the quickest would win the game and Wigan did that.
Even tho we was losing at half time i wasn't worried at all as we opened Wigan up with ease at times and I knew we can put points on the board but we started the 2nd half to soft. We kicked off and Wigan was bouncing us making easy meters and then got a little luck for the try and we went to sleep.
Thought I O Loughlin was very good.

| Brown: "They were far better than us today,Sean O'Loughlin showed why he is one of the best players in the world.
"He was far and away the best player on the field. He's a sensational player and that's why Waney saves him for the big games."You can't carry players against them and we had too many players out there not at the level need to be to beat a champion side."We had some nice sequences of play in the first half but we turned the ball over too much in the second half."
I'd have took 8 wins out of 9 before start of the season. There will be a few more days like today, there's no doubt about that. Just hope the players who didn't put a decent shift in today are dropped for a match or two.

Think most would - just as long as the one loss wasn't against those scummy, inbred, six-toed scumbags from wi*an. Especially given the lame performance.

| Saints were excellent with the ball in spells but both defences struggled in the first half. We managed to sort ours out at half time but you guys didn't and seemed to lose intensity in the second half.
Sean O'Loughlin along with Farrell and Bateman were the difference I thought. Those three have incredible engines and in high intensity games in warm conditions like today they're worth their weight in gold. On the other end of the scale I thought you carried a couple of players and in particular big Masoe. He's a bit of a liability on games of that pace. I've never seen a guy down on his Knees as much in all my years watching the game. In the plus side I thought Lomax was tremendous and you can tell Walsh is all class. The best overseas half in the league since Trent Barrett.

I agree with all that and basically what I've posted in terms of how the game went.
Both teams was pretty shocking in defence in the first half and I always thought who sorted the defence out would win and could run away with it.
Lomax was excellent as was Walsh.

I actually thought Mose played pretty well. He always looks knackered after 2 mins, but he'll still put in massive carries and some good hits. I just thought collectively our pack failed to keep pace with yours (again).
