That doesn't mean we should just get any old dosser tho!
I have never seen this bloke play so I have no idea, but those reasons above do not fill me with confidence. His YouTube clips are good, but that isn't what you can base a judgment on.
If we get him I cannot wait to see him play and find out what he's really like!

| Quote: The Chair Maker "Looking at his stats this year
Played 4
35 hit ups (9 carries a match)
364 metres (10 metres a carry)
38 tackles (9 tackles a match)
3 missed tackles
Minutes played in each game 18, 41, 12, 34
The metres per carry is very good, but overall contribution is somewhat limited.'"
Those stats are fine for an impact player. He's clearly a guy you bring on for 15 minutes and let him change the momentum of the game.

| My mate in oz has just told e that the panthers are trying to sign benji Marshall in next year. They already signed soward.
Looks like they freeing up cap space to bring these players in.

| I don't think we are after a all match player.
I was very impressed with Walker and I can see him being our all match player. Also we make 2nd rowers by the boatful who can tackle all day long, but have less impact going forwards.
I can see this guy being the replacement for TP, rather than Perry.
I still reckon we need one more prop, although Brown maybe happy with the boys coming through.
Props : Walker, LMS, Walmsley, Clough, Thompson, Mose. That's 6 props. You would say 2 are impact props in Walmsley and Mose. But then you balance that out with Sia who can play 80 mins. Then the pack looks pretty full.
I think the lack of Perry being effective over the 3 years has to be accounted for. You could put almost any prop in there and get an improvement. If the guy can only do 20mins, or do you mean 20mins a half??

| If Saints pull this off and Walsh then they should be applauded!
Excellent signings and if we can get Hopkins then we go into SL with the biggest pack of forwards and a young exciting backline.

| Quote: The Chair Maker "This is what i thought when i looked at his physical stats and playing style.
The fact NRL clubs would not appear to want him, points to some issues
It would not surprise me if those issues are the same as those of Feka eg spends more time eating rather than training.
I suppose he would get sponsored by Nando's
Looks the big lumbering sort who would get exposed against fast half backs and quick play the balls.
The fact he only plays for 20 mins a match is also a concern. Saints fans are crucifying Perry for doing that, and yet are getting all excited about a player who will offer pretty much the same durability.
I want Saints to be signing a front rower who can play for 60 to 80 minutes if need be, and who is prepared to run at brick walls'"
i've read all the posts on here and agree with you - we should excercise extreme caution that we don't end up with 2 Perry's.

Props
We 100% need another prop as well as masoe. We need a quality prop that can put in a good 30 mins hard work. I've always said we can't just risk the likes of walker come good, we need to sign another prop and bring the likes of walker thru gradually. We took the risk on youth with foster, ashurst, Dixon, tyrer and look how we ended up.
I'm all for giving youth a chance but IMO at this stage we need quality experienced players.
We need a halfback and two props.

| He's big and he looks like he gives no quarter - which is a valuable thing for us.
Perry never really brought his enforcer game, the likes of Laffranchi and Clough are hard working, but not agressive. Puletua is so laid back he's horizontal and even Sia seems to have a calm and friendly demeanour. Having an extra hitman about would be areal boost.
The lack of minutes isn't a massive problem as long as he's effective when he's on the pitch, assuming we get one more prop. Note, however, that he's always wearing a subs shirt. We're all convinced LMS is better off the bench, if this guy was as well, then that would leave us with Walmsley starting (which wouldn't be the end of the world).
I think of Thompson and Walker as back rows. Combine them with Sia, Manu, Flash, Greenwood, Jones and the likelyhood we'll shoehorn in Wilkin somewhere means we'll probablyonly be taking 4 props in the match day squad, rather than the 5 that's commanly seen now.
