| I wonder if Brown said we would get a lot worse before we get better when he took the job? Because we are worse now than under Rush or Potter.

But how much of that is due to the injuries we've had? You simply can't judge is this season yet.

Perhaps, but we didn't look that good before Lomax and Roby etc etc got injured.
Last year even after the poor start which got Royce sacked we only lost 8 all season; we are not even half way and we have lost 6 already.
If we carry on at the same success rate we will end up with 29 points and 7th i.e. where we are now - and I can't see any light at the end of the tunnel for the next month at least.

| Dear Gods.... Here we go yet again... Every bloody season.... When will they learn?
Shall I remind you all of this thread once we've comfortably finished in the top 4 at the end of the season again (as I have to seemingly every year) once the injuries have eased and the games start to actually matter?

You're assuming the injury situation will ease. It didn't in 2011 and it may not this season either. I hope it does, obviously, but it can't be assumed.

The problem this year is we can hardly get excited about half the players we have coming back ..
I'm going to steal from an old thread here which still amuses me but I cant find but waiting for the likes of Perry and Meli to come back and save the day is like blowing the Horn at helms deep expecting an army and then seeing a hurd of guinea pigs coming over the hill..... a little bit of a let down

Don't think so.
Players will move there only because they would be paid handsomely. We shouldn't be concerned about the players that choose to move there, as it would purely be for money.

And your point being? Money talks, especially in a sport where your career can be over so quickly and there isn't that much money around

Sorry
Errrr.... We suck, we'll never get any better, we'll never win anything and it's the end of the world. We won't win another game and we'll finish bottom this season. Our players are all complete garbage and the board doesn't know what it's doing in signing any of them in the first place. Sack them all and replace them with Blackbrook and Thatto Heath amateurs who'll show some pride in the shirt instead. We need to sign a dozen worldclass speedy wingers as well.
Am I allowed back in now?

This point is quite an obvious one.
Players will get money wherever they go if they are good enough. Then that brings in other factors. If you think money is the answer in the short term it isn't, simply because there is a cap. You will have to pay over the odds for one player and that then impacts upon the rest of the squad.
The likelihood of you bringing in more than 2 decent players is small, unless you fiddle the cap. You will struggle to bring in 5/6 average players because you'll be overpaying for them.

| Salford are so far under the cap I think you can expect more than 2 and lots of dead wood cleared out in the off season. I can't personally see the cap staying as it is at the moment as its not working, as you state I think there are other ways of paying a player other than through his wages which obviously play a big part in the attraction.

I suppose we will just wait and see, but I don't think the likes of: Wigan, Warrington, Saints and Hull are particularly worried about Salford atm.
