No, he was definitely knocked down. There was certainly a collision between Wellens and McIlorum which McIlorum could easily have avoided. What I wouldn't like to say for certain is if there was a direct knee (it didn't look like a kick to me) to the head or whether he just ran into it. Either way it was totally uncalled for.

| The view I had was directly behind the incident. McIlorum could have avoided contact had he so wished. He didn't. Contact was made on Wello's head by McIlorum's knee as Wello attempted to regain his feet whilst obviously dazed. It looked nasty and cowardly I'm sad to say.

There was definitely contact, and it was avoidable. It'll be interesting to see what comes of it, if anything.

| I saw it too, a lot of people around me did too because there was a loud protest from our area of the stand after it happened! When I watched the highlights back on Sky, I was pretty shocked to see it not showed or even mentioned at all. Will be interesting to see if the disciplinary panel pick it up or not..

| Not sure why people think McIlorum would deliberately target Wellens. He was our best player on Friday.

It was more opportunistic rather than a 'targeted attack'.
And he really wasn't your best player, Crosby was easily your best player.

| Crosby and Walmsley were the only two stand out players across both teams.

I completely agree with Farrell, but none of the above were 'stand outs'. They played well but certainly not stand outs.

I wouldn't say they stood out.

| i think some should watch the match over again as smith and green ripped saints apart at least 7 times. green and smith are turning out to be the best pairing wigan has had in a long time

| I don't think Taylor, Smith and Green stood out for Wigan on Friday. It made me chuckle typing that it was like writing Freeman, Hardy and Willis. lol
