| Never liked Hull since a brick was hurled at our coach back when Bomber was in charge. Scared the woman next to the window out of her wits. She was still shaking when she got off at Peasley Cross.

| Mind you, when it comes to being scared senseless Hull KR takes the prize. Recall me and Chairmaker getting off the coach at New Craven (the year it was built, IIRC) and wandering onto the nearby field which, for some reason, reminded me of an army firing range.
The next minute a group of people emerged from the trees on the far side and curiously enough one of them was carrying a rifle.

| Ok it's not fans but it is an issue for the Hull clubs. If enough of this happens fans will not go, they may not blame the fans of opposing clubs, but if it's not safe then no matter who is causing the trouble the result will be the same. Away fans staying away.
I've been to Hull when the Rugby is not on, but when it has been on, I've not been back since my car was broken into. Every single car was targeted on that occasion as the local crim's knew everyone was inside the stadium. Well if I can't leave my car and now you can't go by coach, then simply you can't go unless you go by train. To be fair I would not have gone today as I was busy. But Hull has dropped of my list of away fixtures to go to even if I do have a free weekend.
Saints had a similar problem some years back at Knowsley Road. There was a local road round the back of Taylor Park near to piggy fletchers, local kids where breaking either into cars or breaking mirrors or doing damage.
I think the clubs response was to inform away fans before the match not to park in that area, as it was an area out of sight off any houses. Also when away fans were parking up there, Saints fans on the way to the match would give them the info not to park there.
If there is a specific place in Hull where these coaches are being bricked. It may not be a police escort that is needed as Hull can't order the police to do so. But they could inform away clubs of this problem and offer a diversion down a different route. I'm not sure where these coaches have been bricked, if it's a main artery that may be impossible to do, but the main road out of Hull is usually pretty free flowing at 40mph so can't imagine that is were they are getting pinged.

We had mass brawl st the grand final with hull fans. The police came and basically sent us to saints end and hull to their end which was fair enough.
Crazy thing happened then, we got in the stadium and they was sat 3 rows down from us and abusing people all thru the match and then it turned ugly in the stadium when they went passed us doing the Wigan walk.
Saints won on the fieid and off the field

There's no need to apologise, Hull is voted the ringpiece of England for good reason. Grubby little chavs stuck in the 80's.

You might know the area and evidence to back your claim, I've not been for long time and have no plans to go in near future either.

| No coach should be bricked and this is a disgrace. Hull has a lot of idiots in the city. Sorry.

| This has happened several times now when one of the Hull clubs has been playing. This isn't the fault of the Hull clubs as it is happening miles from their respective stadiums but I think that the police need to do something more about this because it cannot be ignored or tolerated. Whether it's an escort of official coaches out of the city, or planning official routes for coaches to take that will avoid any 'bad areas', something should be done about it.
It isn't the fans of the teams that are doing it - they're still on their way home/to the pub after the match - but it's some idiots with no morals and they give the entire city a bad name.

| Quote: Monko "People always seem so sure to blame it on the fans but believe you me it's nothing to do with the club or the fans. This incident (as already confirmed by the Saints fans on the coach involved) was caused by the kids allowed to roam the streets in west Hull causing all kinds of problems. Hull is a large city, 300,000 residents I reckon but I'm afraid we do have some pond life.'"
theres a bunch of feral kids roaming anlaby road calling themselves the silver cod kids after the infamous silver cod crew firm of hull city! they are a bunch of male and female teenagers usually congregating near silver cod-tescos causing bother for the locals i wouldnt be suprised if this bunch of pond life was anything to do with the incidents yesterday!

| This problem really does need sorting out. I think the reason it dosnt happen at Hull city games is the coaches will be escorted. This needs to happen for the rugby as well I'm afraid to say. It is affecting our club financially because if people didn't have a problem coming to Hull, Saints would have brought twice as many yesterday

| Much prefer the Hull fans than the HKR ones. Always seem to get on well with the Hull fans remember walking back from the grand final with them great bunch of lads. Same in our semi final of the challenge cup at Huddersfield when we showed the Hull fans our appreciation after the loss.
HKR are at a different class, a few cases of racial abuse against our players quite a few years ago, we had problems with them also a couple of rows back in the Hull v Saints at Wembly. Also had a couple of threatening situations at Widnes last season.

| I'll address a few points people seem to be ignoring.
It is a legal requirement to put on police escorts for official supporters coaches at the football (part of the scheme to encourage people to travel in the aftermath of the hooligan era). It is the home club that foots the bill, hence no rugby league club does it because it's too expensive and not compulsory.
Hull would LOOSE money given an average away following, (running costs to open the north stand, extra staff and now police escorts), would not be covered by 300 people paying £23.
I agree something needs to be done about it but while it's not the clubs fans causing the trouble, it's not the clubs responsibility and it would cost the club money to fix it, I don't see what you want them to do.
On another point don't pretend it's the reason you don't travel to Hull, you don't travel because it's too far, everyone else (excluding the expansion teams) is within an hour or so in the car, so when it comes to missing the odd away fixture the Hull ones are top of the list. Away followings to Hull are appaling and have been for years, make all the excuses you like but if it was 15 minutes down the road there would been thousands of saints fans today not the 500 or so that turned up.

Total rubbish.
It doesn't happen when its a Rovers game or a Hull City game.
It only happens at FC games.
Now, either it's a very bad case of coincidence, or there is a definite link !
I'll let you decide.
And yes it does give the full city a very bad name indeed. However half of the mindless idiots on the Hull Fc forum think that because it happened over 1 mile away from the ground that it isn't their problem.
They don't seem to have the intelligence or forward thinking to want to do something about it as it will inevitably affect attendances.

Away fans will find any excuse for why they can't be bothered to come to Hull, at the moment it's violence, the other month it was ticket prices, for traveling to rovers it's the poor away end (you can always stand somewhere else).
Admit it's just easier to miss them than it is to go.
You have to make the long journey twice a year, hull and rovers have to do it for every away game and yet they still manage to have the best away followings.
Quote: Les the Red "or a hull city game'"
Has happened a few times, usually in the same areas, probably the Hull FC fans still, right?
