Exactly.....Last night said more about Wigan's inability to kill off a misfiring rival, than highlighting Wire's future chances.

What would have been the score had Wire actually turned up??... icon_wink.gif

Wire's terrible completion rate should give any team confidence that they'll have chances against them, but their goal line defence is awesome at times and they're very dangerous from anywhere on the field.

Correct, they remind me of the saints of old, they can be user pressure on their on line defending repeat sets and then go straight down the other end and score.

After I'd seen them Defend their line so well and use attack so one dimensionally, it's crossed my mind that they could nil us. Hopefully that won't be the case icon_sad.gif

They won't nil us, we will at least get one try or kick a pen.

I'm still struggling to work out how we lost a game we controlled for vast periods. I say that it doesn't help having a loony tune in Lauaki playing for us or us being embarrassingly negative in going for 2 points when we were all over them resulting in 2 Wire trys from our first set errors.

Happy enough that we look good enough to be in the mix at the end of the year but frustrated we've lost 2 games now against Widnes and Wire we should have won with more composure.

Good post.....They say great sides know how to win when playing poorly and being second best for most of the game - What about teams who lose despite being the better side??.... icon_wink.gif

Hasn't that Wigan side won a Suoer League title and Challenge Cup in the last 2 years??.... icon_confused.gif

Barring Leeds, they are probably the most experienced side in the league at present, big-game wise.

Give over. Many of them are still kids. Are you seriously expecting me to believe that if after your, say, tenth first team game you win the SL Grand Final you are suddenly a fully experienced SL pro?

Who were these 'kids' they had out on Friday night.....All were experienced Super League players.

Some were young, I give you that, but don't lack experience.....Wire probably had more lesser-experienced players in their 17.

You CAN'T be young and experienced. It's impossible.

Experience is a [iproduct of[/i age.

Can't say I agree tbh. We have some young players like all teams but they've played in plenty of big games now against big sides.

The lack of composure shown wasn't coming from guys like Charnley, Farrell, Tuson or Flower but rather from players that should know better in Leuluai and Lauaki.

Composure and a negative mindset lost us the game rather then a lack of experience.

Umm it's probably not a good sign but we can't fix a couple of issues up pretty quickly with the first being to drop Lauaki until he grows a brain.

The second I want is to see us move Leuluai back in to hooker. I'm not overly fussed if it's Mellor or Tomkins going in to stand off but Leuluai hasn't got the skills required to play 7 for us. He's a world class 9 but an ordinary 7.

Young Matty Russell going in at 1 and Tomkins at 6 would be scary in attack.
