| Quote: SaintsFan "Shadows, I agree with your post entirely and I think it's pretty much the only sensible post I've read on the subject of Jamie Foster. When he dropped that ball last night his head went down. He looked absolutely rocked by what he had done, and he was on Twitter apologising again. He's had too much to distract him and he needs to be helped back to focus. He was great in the first half. But he makes a mistake and he can't recover from it. Not that he got much help from his team mates of course, there was nobody in support defensively. But either way I think he needs some protection for a while, time to refocus and get his career back on track. Given that we have just signed him for two years the coaching staff obviously see some potential in him but at present I think if he makes more gaffs then his confidence will be shot.'"
There's his biggest distraction... He needs to stay off this and re-focus himself so that his priority is RL and not Social Networking

| Perhaps I have no room to comment because he is not a WTW player but from a neutrals point of view he comes across as a ponce. He seems to have the attitude of a 'footballer' and not a rugby league player. Paul Sculthorpe was the face of rugby league for a reason, a model professional, a great player, an excellent advertisement for the sport of rugby league. He was a good looking lad too who did promotions for gillette etc and he never let his eye of the prize. I fear Jamie Foster's career as an elite RL player will be over quicker than it started if he concentrates on his image rather than his ability.

I think he gets a bigger buzz off using twitter to brag about himself, he'll soon be bragging he's playing at Leigh sports village if he don't get himself sorted.
I've stuck up for him in the past when he's been called a one trick pony but it's looking like that might be the case.

When did you ever stick up for Jamie Foster?
What I'd like to happen is for Jamie to be dropped to the u20s for a while not as a punishment but to protect him from the inordinately hostile attention he receives the minute he makes a mistake which, in turn, knocks his confidence and leads him to making more mistakes. The guy is desperate to do well for Saints and his anxiety is clear to see when he messes up. To top that off he has to deal with rabid halfwit Saints fans getting on his case like he is the sole reason for the team being useless in defence for the second week running to the point of handing over a great lead.
Once out of the limelight for a while he can refocus on his game and rebuild his confidence, and then when he returns to the first team he needs to be placed on the outside of Shenton.
That's what I would do with Foster.

I've stuck up for foster many times and last season was saying we need to get him on new deal before union come knocking. That was even he was interested in playing rugby league.
If you read my post correctly you'll see that I said I'd put him in the u20s to rebuild his confidence as at the moment it's shot and I also he needs to get the hunger back.
It's ok saying on twitter every week he's made mistakes and will work on it but if he don't sort it then he's in trouble.
It's pretty obvious he's in the side for his kicking at the moment as his selection can't be based on her performance.

| Very easy to bag Foster for his efforts, which i agree was average at best after his first mistake but their was other errors just as bad as his, LMS's effort for Castys try was awful and this rubbish from Simmons about resting and rotating, its 4 games into the year how can anyone be tired yet? Lance should of been on much earlier, whats the point of having him sat on the bench for 70 mins? Hows about give Roby a rest before he burns him out.

Lance was lucky to get his 8 mins as the back on the bench more often than not don't even get on.
The are a lot of things Royce does which I find strange.

Unless you have the permision of the club then no you cant, even if a player is coming off contract there is a deadline prior to wich they can not be talked to.

| On the subjects of leadership and Wheeler I found his midweek comments [ivis a vis[/i James Graham very interesting. Clearly he - and by implication several other players - were not entirely satisfied with Jammer's approach to leadership. Given Saints' complete lack of such last night I wonder whether he now thinks the devil he did know was better than the one he's enjoying now.

That Graham could be too demanding and quick to assert blame. My interpretation was he is not too upset by Jammer's departure (others too, by implication).

| Interesting indeed! Just a pity we have a Jammer shaped hole the size of Jupiter in the middle of the park at the moment.

| I don't think it is anything serious. Just a difference of opinion about how a leader should lead. I mean, it's not like we haven't seen evidence in the past of Graham bawling out someone behind the sticks after a try has been conceded.

The Angry Man.
I was at Ade's forum, if that's where you were.
