I rather think Wane was talking about the kicking.

And what do you think, bearing in mind that Botica left Wigan in 1996.

Pat Richards is a very good plus a decent kicker, better than Botica in playing ability. I would say that Frano was a fairly average RL player with an exceptionally good kicking ability. Kicking can and does win games and players will secure shirts on the basis of their value with the boot.

| Frano Botica was vastly underated as a player. I remember him making Anthony Sullivan look daft on more than one occasion. He wasn't as good as the fella they had on the other wing, but who was?
Any talk of him being a "Sean Day" type is complete nonsense.

spot on, another thing with Frano was that he was very versatile and could play full back, wing, stand off or scrum half would make a difference in any of those positions. He was more than just a good goal kicker.

| lmao, in my opinion would have to agree that roby is up there with the best in the world and on his day is the best but so can anybody on hthere day, think wane might got carried away with the performance against leeds. if mcilorum plays like that week in and week out he might start being able to challenge the top hookers in the league but atm he needs to go to a consistent level of that performance.

| Was really impressed with Roby against Broncos, running from dummy half he was through the line of defence before the defenders noticed, but last week against Salford on Sky, he didn't seem to run as much. If your forwards Get a quick play the ball today we could be in for a long afternoon with Mr Roby about.

| Seems a bit of a non story. A coach bigging up one of his players, I mean Wane isn't gonna say he'd prefer to have Roby is he, as that wouldn't do McIlorum any good.

| I thought McIlorum was going to be GB's hooker for years to come?
Apart from agression, he doesnt have anything more to his game than any other generic english hooker, with the exception of Roby

| Roby already topping the super league stats for metres and carries, just missed the top spot for tackles as well. When we come to his "equal" McLlorum does,t even register on any of these richter scales , its as though his season hasn,t started unless he's playing in a different league.
