The new young dynasty of super saints is coming to a ground near you. Welsby-Dodd-Simms-Eaves-Rizzelli, not Eastmond...the future is coming.:Dwarfs, Gnomes, Halflings/GNOME2.JPG

Quote: SaintsFan "No they aren't! We sold 15,537! How is that 'well above' 15,000? And more fool you for listening to Internet speculation. Nobody ever claimed 16,000 had been sold. .'"

Are you operating to zero tolerance Saints Fan, we were only 463 short of 16000 tickets, some supporters with tickets didn,t turn up, so we might have actually sold more tickets than the actual digital count through the turnstiles, as 15,537 was the attendance and not the no. Of tickets sold.

Was expecting around 16.5 k myself, but if we can average 15k for the season that would be fantastic.

I have followed the LONDON CLUB since I was in my teensl even though born in St Helens and still live nearby and went to the first game at Fulham, also Big West Ham Supporter:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_1649.jpg

Quote: BackrowSaint "I think this bit may be before Saints were allocated the East Stand. The West Stand was in fact sold out a couple of weeks ago and at the time was the only standing available to Saints supporters, this is probably why your friend couldn't get a ticket. Saints fans were than allocated the East stand at a later date as it was apparent Salford would only bring around 200 fans.'"

Most likely the case, but when you are 75 and don't have internet connection how do you know about late allocations? if I had known I would have rang and told him.

Quote: the flying biscuit "my bit of advice for starting topics on RLFANS.
1.) dont talk about attendances.... Wigan are second only to NASCAR in Attendance numbers. (I was going to say bumbs on seats but thats a different story)
2.) dont talk about flags. Only the Chinese Army and an Olympic games opening ceremony have more flags than the frigantes.
3.) dont talk about fullbacks unless you want to start explaining why Billy Slater is better than Sam Tomkins.
4.) dont talk about owning your own stadium. It's been Made Quite clear by the cherry boys that renting is always better than owning.
4.) and dont talk about history it doesnt exist for any club other than Shaun Wanes boys from the Wigan Way.

stick by them and you'll be able to talk without half wit intrusion no problem.'"

Don't let your love turn to hate Now we've got to keep the faith Wigan Rugby League:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_35345.jpg

Quote: saints1233 "Wigan played their first match at the DW against Cas in 99 which was the first game at the new stadium and also the last game of the regular season, and with Cas bringing a healthy away following, Wigan managed a rather dismal 13,900 (and lost), not forgetting of course that Wigan are the bestest fans in the world who are famous continental, especially in countries such as Peru, Angola, Malta and the Faroe Islands.. Adding to this their first home game of the following season pulled in just 11,200 against Leeds. And yes they sold out their last game at Central park against St Helens, had we played Wigan we would of done the same. Get a grip you mong......

I believe only 2 or 3 of the stands were open for this game. As it wasn't quite finished, As we wanted the Saints game to be our final at CP.

Good attendance by your lot, would have been nice to have been a sell out, though.

I read about that. 80% up on Widnes v Wakefield on opening night and up on the Grand Final as well?

Quote: Supreme Saint "St Helens v Salford City Reds

TBH, I had expected our first game at LP to be a sell out, however to put it in persective, 2 years ago at KR and certainly last year at Widnes, we would have been one of, if not the lowest attendance of those above, so to jump from that to the top isn't to be sneezed at. I hope we can average between 14-15K this year, but expect our average to settle down to something more like 12k in a couple of years time, which will still be a significant increase on KR averages.

We can be bold enough to make a stand and do battle for our views and beliefs. But we must strive to be mature enough not to resort to unnecessary personal attacks upon people with opposing views.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_47035.gif

We'll struggle to hit 15k average now with the reduced capacity. But 14k is still doable, Catalan will be telling as the drop off will be as severe as it can be when they come to town.

It only has to last up to say the Leeds or Wigan game to have an impact. If we sell 17,200, then it's had an impact, as we could have sold 17,201.

According to the RLFANS.STATS page, the attendance against Salford in 2010 (last year at KR) was 7728, so we doubled that - but probably because it was the first League game.

The real test will be the Catalans game - in 2010, we got 8442 at KR, and that was played in July of that year. This year, with 10,000 season tickets sold, them not bringing a lot, being cold, not being on TV, and with a few walk ups, I would hope we get at least 12,000, which would be a very good increase in my opinion.

For the 2010 season, our average was 11,191 (for just SL games - not play off games). We had 2 x 17500 sellouts in successive games, and big crowds against Hull (in the fog, Sean Long's return) and Cas (last league game at KR).

For this season, I would expect sellouts against Wigan and Warrington, close to sellouts against Leeds (sunday game should mean they bring a few) and Widnes, and decent crowds against the 2 Hull teams who generally bring a good number of supporters. If we could average 14,000, I think that would be a brilliant achievement - almost a 25% increase from KR.
