| Quote: saint at wire "The drink (Saints Gold) is really quite good. It's about as good a keg as you can get anywhere in a stadium venue and at £2.80 not badly priced.
The food though.............I had a peters "steak" pie on Friday before the game. I was happy to pay £3 as my view is its all going to an excellent cause (the Club) so if its overpriced, well I'm not too bothered.
My mistake though was assuming that it was a) steak and b) in any way edible.
I tried my best to eat it but the meat was as tough as boot leather and surrounded by fat, mixed in with grizzle.
Did I just get a bad pie? Unfortunately not - as I approached a bin, two other guys were also binning their steak pies and were extremely vocal in their disappointment to say the least. We were then joined by a third guy who was also binning his pie who had equally strong views.
I am in my 50's and can honestly say it was the worst pie I've ever come across. (the best pies are Blackburn's from cambridge road which I stock up on when I come over from direland).
Sorry for the moan - please don't burn me at the stake (no pun intended) for heresy or even worse don't make me eat another of those chuffin' pies. I'm trying one of those massive hot dog thingys at our next home game.'"
No-one is going to burn you at the stake here, but have you put a constructive complaint in to the club itself? If you want to see an improvement its the best way to get one, especially if its from two dozen blokes emailing them rather than standing around a bin grumbling

We got dealt with of 200 Salford fans!? Firstly, sort your spelling and grammar out before coming to troll. Secondly stop trying to dodge the swear filter, and finally whilst you may have thought you sounded like 1000 elephants trumpeting, we barely heard you from the West Stand bar the odd occasion once you'd scored.

| When we were walking to the stadium, before we got to the bridge, there was an enterprising guy selling hot pies from the back of his van for £1.

I saw that too. Where was he from and is he official is my question? I was very tempted, but there was the nagging doubt it could be anything in those pies.

| Stick to the burgers is my advice as against Widnes they were fab. The Rollover hotdogs are always good too if ridiculously overpriced.

| The hotdogs are very good, a little skimpy on the onions on the one I had but that's to be expected! Taste was very good for a stadium hot dog.

Don't think its worth bothering the club with as its is unllikely in the extreme that they will dump Peters as they will have a very new contract with them.
I get a better audience on here.
Anyway, I've learned my lesson - I will not buy a pie again there and neither will the other guys.
The only thing that will change the club's mind on their deal is when pie sales drop to an unstainable level; which will happen in due course as they will not get any repeat business!
(if anyone on here has actually enjoyed the steak pie at the ground then I'd be amused to hear from you - if you can eat that, you can eat anything)
The guy in the white van selling the pies was claiming they were pimbletts apparently.

In all fairness after reading your signature you shouldn't have been anywhere near Peter's pies.
Maybe it's your inability to remember what you do and don't like rather than the pie itself.

Sorry but I was sat in the North Stand, on the red vee infact, and the Salford fans out sang us all the game. They never stopped singing from start to finish, when they were infront and when they were behind. They were brilliant.
Never heard the west stand all night or the east stand and I have friends who were there and said they were singing all night to the Salford fans.
Looks like the atmosphere is only going to be generated by who is in your stand as you can't hear the other stands.

| They are apparently moaning about there being "only" one male toilet block for 4000 fans in the north stand and they had to queue at half time!"!"
