| I am pretty sure the "overflow" car park is for functions and events at the stadium, you would`nt get many supporters in there anyway , and I wouldnt say the car parking is all there is , i think if you add up the town centre car parks there are ample spaces , adding up the ones Saints mention gives 1410 spaces all within a maximum of 10 minute walk from Langtree Park

Obviously, you don't have to make the same trip.
The traffic would be horrendous, as I will have to drive past/through the congested area around the groundto get to the town centre parking unless I go the long way round through burtonwood or via the east lancs. I will also be able to get a quick getaway (imagine what it will be like trying to get out of tontine st car park or the olf safeway site) from the warrington side of the town and won't pay for parking to boot!

Whilst you are true you will hit congestion, you're going to face that in some shape or form with the other places you mentioned, or indeed anywhere in the area on a matchday, that much is common sense when you have 1000's of people arriving or leaving an area at a similar time.
Coming from the M62 you're going to hit traffic at the McDonalds roundabout, even more so upon leaving, Burtonhead road may be the easiest option of these providing that it is not monitored by wardens but getting away post game won't be easy via the island. Sherdley Business Park on Scorecross might be an option as you can then go down Marshalls Cross Road back towards Lea Green & the M62.
If you do/are able to park on Jackson Street there is a footbridge over the rail tracks that links Manor Street (off Jackson Street) & Alma Street (off Peasley Cross lane) opposite the stadium. Its not very well lit back there and is a bit rough.
Personally I'm not sure how well they can police Ravenhead retail park as there are several ways to access it and given that most of the shops are closed by 8pm anyway it seems unlikely to cause difficulties to the businesses and shoppers there.

And they may well put barriers on just like on the Robin Park site.

Yes but even if they arrive an hour or more before kick off are the shops going to be full of people between say 6-8pm on a friday evening? so much so that all parking spaces will be filled?

I understood Tony because of the size that opening hours were going to be longer, have you ever been shopping at 7pm on a Friday, No Supermarket is empty as many see it as time when it is quiet and it's not!
Tesco simply can't afford to risk that there car park will be full of rugby fans and deter shoppers, though the traffic around the stadium may on match nights. Annoys me in Newton-le-Willows on a Saturday trying to get a space on Tesco as everyone parks there to go to the market, but I understand that was one of the requirements of the council as it was there land!

| Best bet for ease will be the car park at The Raven hotel. Theres a good 30plus spaces walking distance and itll be easier to get away. Multi storey and chalon way will be a nightmarequeing to get out.
I wonder which is the closest boozer to the new ground Raven must be up there.

The George Hotel on George street isnt far , usually has good german bottled beers , and is a staunch Saints pub , loads of memorabelia and vintage games to watch before the game , what more do you want?

you have to make sure your close to the orange car though to get the best picture
seriously though, you can see the opportunity on this street for small firms to charge people a couple of quid to park on their lots.
Jackson street in particular has firms with far bigger car parks.
wonder also if people will nip onto st.helens hospital car park then walk down Marshalls cross road

I wasn't talking about Tesco dude, just the Ravenhead retail park i.e. B&Q, Carphonewarehouse etc. It was more theoretical than anything.
