Scott Moore puts an aggressive shot on Paleaaesina and hurts him, forces an error from Salford.

Salford try and play their way out of their own 10m line and knock on. This gives Saints a great opportunity to put the final nail in the coffin.

On only the second tackle Paul Clough tries to stretch out for the line but unfortunately loses control in the process and gives possession back to Salford. Saints are then caught offside a couple of plays later which lets Salford get out of their own half.

Full time, not a great performance by Saints but a win all the same.

I was not expecting fireworks and 30 points against anyside is decent. Lets not forget these guys beat Huddersfield last time out.

Saints have never been good after a week off and our last outing was well less than perfect.

The worry will be can we pick up the intensity for the playoffs or will we stay at this lower intensity.

Either way a win is a win and 3rd spot is done with.

Can't see the quins putting up a stiff test next week so is it worth playing a full team if it's just going to be an additional training session.

As you rightly point out a week off makes us rusty so it would be foolhardy not to play the strongest team we have to keep up some momentum.

I've reverted back to wanting Gaskell back. The last two matches he's come on and scored a try quickly after. I don't know why Royce didn't take one of our halfbacks off halfway through the first half as one was having a mare of a match (Lomax) and the other decided he preferred putting his feet up in back play.

Getting the 2 points was more important than how we played, well done the team for clinching 3rd place when in theory Giants and Cats looked better than for most of the season.
On the game itself, we are still too lateral and not running good lines, another good game from Makinson, when will we ever see Shenton put through a gap.
