| get a grips Saints (again)
he is an important part of a team that has got you to the grand final (again) despite you not having your first choice half back partnership for a good portion of the season! FFS.

| Is it just me or has nobody pointed out what a pudding Flannery was. Was rounded twice by Tomkins and Leuleui. While he was also at fault in defence for the first try. He was definately targetted and exposed by Wigan.
Wilkin still seems to be stuggling with his shoulder/neck injury. I think he actually had a reasonable game given his poor form recently. I just wish that he would use the time he writes articles and blogging on becoming the player he should be. He is not a bad player but he should be a hell of a lot better at this point of his career.

I noticed, but he wasn't at fault for the first try. However, he probably played his worst game of the season last night.

Wilkin was better last week when he wasn't playing at 6. Why Potter continued to play him at 6 when he is not a 6 is something I don't even what to think about now. But while Wilkin hasn't found anything like his form prior to his injury, I do think he would have done a better job for us playing in the position he is made to play in rather than one he just can't play.
I'd like to see our new coach remind Wilkin of what a great little interceptor he used to be. We haven't seen him intercept for two seasons.

Lets hope next time he does intercept that andy coley ain't there to chase him down and catch him!
I thought he was classed as being pretty fast for a backrow!
So he's to small for the pack, average pair of hands and no pace but runs good lines.

Wilkin was named at 6 but clearly played second row/loose forward with Jonny Lomax at 6.
The excuse of 'not being a 6' isn't applicable for last nights performance.

| Wilkin was far from our worst player, that goes to Lomax without a doubt, he just couldn't defend, and his defence in that first 20 minutes effectively cost us the game. I'm not saying you can blame one player for losing, but Wilkin was far from our biggest problem.
I thought Wilkin tried hard last night to make something happen, which is more than what can be said for a lot of them. Wellens, Wilkin and Roby all did OK, IMO.

He's not been shocking, i think thats very harsh. I'm a fan of Wilkin tbh, but we have a lot of players, including the youngsters who are coming through, who are not big enough or fast enough to cause the opposition any real threat and i think that could probably be said of Wilkin. Wilkin however has a good rugby brain, if only he was a foot taller and a stone heavier or 3 yards faster, but that can be said about quite a few in our team.

Do you think wilkin is much better than clough, dixon or ashurst ?
I used to be wilkins biggest fan, he was my fave player but i saw a change in him, he became a big time charlie, he believed all the hype.
If he put the effort in to playing rugby like he does with his media work then he would improve a great deal.
We all know he's looking forward for when he retires but first he needs to give his all tpo the club and the fans that pay this big time charlie is wages.

I do think he is better than Clough, Dixon and Ashurst yes. Wilkin works as hard as those players in defence, makes more yards in attack (apart from maybe Clough) and also offers something in terms of creativity and versatility to the team.
I do however think that Wilkin had the potential to be a world class player, but he didn't progress and reach his maximum potential, but that doesn't mean hes a rubbish player. I don't blame him for doing a bit of media aside from Rugby at the end of the day he needs to look after himself and hes making sure he has something he can do when his career is over, and thats fair enough, IMO. I know what your saying though, maybe he has believed the hype, or maybe a coach has pulled him to one side and told him he needs to focus on his defence more, hence taking something in attack out of his game, who knows. As i've said, we have a lot of players that like size and speed, they don't have one or the other, there just in between somewhere, and Wilkin is one of those players.

To be fair, it's hard to compare clough and wilkin as clough is more a prop style player.
I don't think the is much between dixon and wilkin apart from wilkin is a so called big name.
