Our recruitment has been poor for years. The players aren't that massive a problem. I think our lack of pace would keep us trophyless, but we have a decent roster. When you combine not signing players to replace to those leaving with a coach devoid of ideas and totally lacking the ability to motivate the players its not a great combination.

No mate.
Your missing an organiser, pace and at least three half decent forwards.

So who do you think you should have signed? You always put a well structured post together, and I am looking forward to your answer. Based on the SC and what you have/had available to spend, there are not many players you could have been in the market for. Didnt you throw most of the money saved at the young players coming through?? something all teams do. I honestly think your recruitment has not been that bad, Fozzy was a mistake for me, as most people have said, the lack of pace is your big concern.

| Quote: Rughead "Potter has turned us from "The Entertainers" to a team that happily trundles the ball forward and then makes a hash of the last tackle. Our pack isn't big enough to burst up the middle, yet up the middle we go. The Saints of old would through the ball around and entertain the crowd, but Potter has us playing a boring, ineffective brand of football. His tactics are poor and he capped it off by putting Roby on the wing. Something has to change ! Now !!!'"

| calm down, calm down!
27 rounds, not 1 and hull were very, very good tonight, much better than i expected, and i admit as much.
However, leon and flannery esp, need to look at their pay packets and see what they do to earn it.
but overall Hulls defence was awesome, and we suffered from alot of injuries, which leads me to (again) question the conditioning system at saints

The conditioner was probably cheap as well.
We seem to be doing everything on the cheap at present. When fans stop turning up do you think the Chairman may wonder whether cheap is always the best option?

I'm torn over this. Do I
a) Boo them until my lungs bleed
b) Get behind them and support them as they are doing their best in a situation where they are restricted by the need to invest in the stadium project?

Yes.
I tried it for the first time tonight. I refused to boo last season, even though I couldn't bear to see what the team had turned in to and even though I was becoming convinced that Potter (and possibly our cheap conditioner) was responsible for the change.
However, tonight I didn't care. Booing was strangely carthetic. It's cheap too: it uses less energy than being righteous.
So go on. Try it. It will make you feel a ton better!

Pity your board missed the chance to 'poach' Justin from our rivals HKR. Much as it pains me to admit, he would surely have been a much better option for you. Also knows a thing or two about getting the very best out of more average players. .......grannyfan Cindy
