Quote: McClennan "I think he's been pretty consistent for most of the season. If you're expecting him to be throwing tacklers off every game then you have to allow for him not being as good every game. It's impossible for the guy to be breaking tackles left, right and centre every time he comes on the pitch. His yardage making has been pretty consistent and without him we'd have struggled even more.

Typical fickleness. Lose a game or two and it's the coach, the tactics, players not giving their all etc.'"

Pretty much it, but for the fact that if we lost Tony P, we'd really struggle.

He is one of the few players in the pack capable of carrying defenders with him and off loading.

Has been a good buy and is an important member of the pack.

If you look back at the thread re Tony P much earlier in the season you'll see I said he was overrated then.

Not Fickle at all - never been greatly impressed! so there
You really don't like other peoples opinions do you?

He's the 3rd highest meter making forward in the comp as well as one of the highest scoring forwards in the comp.

McClennan's post is spot on, can't add anything to that.

You're entitled to your opinion but were wrong then and by questioning his effort you are certainly wrong now. What are you expecting from him out of interest?

I'm one of tony P's biggest fans, i think he's been phenominal, but exile is entitled to his opinion, but i'd be interested on what he bases it on?

Started strongly, but faded very quickly as the season progressed. Lets hope that he puts the effort in during the play offs......not hopeful though, he seems to be a bit of a waster...

I'm begining to think that! the doubters of tony (and others) can never base their arguments on any facts what so ever. I know i'm a bit of a stato, but thats the way the modern game is. I have not seen a bad game from tony.

I base my arguments on many (many) years of watching RL and I try and avoid stats as they often lie.

I think tony p does good job at prop and have said all year that IMO he should stay prop. He makes very good yards which is massive for us with our lightweight pack.

My only problem with the big guy is his very soft tackles. A lot of the time he just holds on to the player and puts his weight on them to hold them.

He should be bouncing them for size of him. The ablett try is a good example of his grab tackles. He should have been trying to drag him back.

All in all I think he been a ok signing.

8.64 metres per carry is bloody marvellous for a second row playing at prop. You are out of line on this one. Started like a house on fire and nobody could have maintained that standard, especially after switching from second row to prop and then dealing with the heavy traffic in the middle.

When he' s no longer propping and we have reinforcements in that position he'll be scoring again and offloading for fun. It's not like he played badly on Friday. Our entire pack really fronted up to Leeds and we had no protection from the referee all night.

Agreed. TP, Eastmond and Flanno were our best for me.

Excellent display from TP. 14 tries this season is also an outstanding return for a player who has predominantly played at prop forward.
