The salary cap is evening things out. No team can have an overly powerful squad or be expected to dominate.
I think its great going to the GPW and watching matches were the result is in doubt until the final whistle.
Who wants to watch opposition teams turn up lie down and let Saints role all over them. Not me.
Thats gone now and thank goodness for it. In the long run it will mean clubs will need to find ways of having that edge, that means players and coaches will need to raise the bar.

We'll see.....the only team thats realistically going to break the Stains Leeds GF combo by some distance is wigan, even after our p155 poor season so far...can you REALLY see wakey, wire, cas, or hudds getting to a GF?!

Id say wire and hudds are better than wigan, the rest i mentioned are on par. Wigan aren't a force any more. Fact. Name yes, force, no.

I tend to think in pressure rugby, wigan will have the ability to raise their game and play better than wakey et al. That's just my opinion.

One thing that goes for us is we're used to playing under pressure but usually for the wrong reasons ie to stay in the league, also Kear has an uncanny knack of getting the best out of players in knock out competitions.

So does Brian Noble.
IMO i'd fear wigan in a playoff game more than wakey.

| Saints got a bad call with the pinball head on try.
Grix played the ball and the kick came in and rebounded all over the place.
There were no knock ons but Grix was in front of the kicker, so cannot touch the ball as he was within the 10..
It should have been a penalty to Saints.
Wakefield also got a couple of bad calls but not so decisive as that one.

Yes we are weaker this year but how can you blame potter?
He took over the current squad.
If saints board think we can let 4 players go every year and not replace them with experiance then we are in for massive shock next year.
IMO we are now paying the price for not recruting players for last 2 seasons.
If we don't sign 2 props next year then we will struggle big time.

I thought the last time it was allowed to head the ball for a try was the John Harrison one, then it was banned......has the law been changed now.

Harrison deliberately headed the ball, that didn't happen tonight, but Grix was in front of the kicker, so technically offside, and can't be inside the 10 even if a Saints player touches the ball.

Carvill last week, Grix this week, any forecast on a Harlequin player next week.

Watch it again, and I'm sure that Grix the try scorer, is in front of the player who kicked the ball (Obst?)
