| Quote: Saint Simon "I'm not denying his achievements, but the way he effectively through matches before cup games dissapointed me, we payed the same to go and watch them, and quite often we would lose the cup match anyway
The majority of the time, it would be well documented in the media that we were playing an under-strength side, so you didn't have to go and watch them, when you knew it would the kids and we would probably get beat. He only really did it for Challenge Cup Finals.

| There's no doubt that Millward's ego got out of control - but as a coach he was a genius. He was the only coach who devised an effective gameplan to take on and defeat the massive Bradford side.

| If millward had left under better terms we would be calling him a legend.
At the end of the day his record spoke for it's self.
It's all well and good saying we only finished round the 3rd postion under millward but he won the grand final a good few times which is the aim of every team at the start of the year.
I bet DA would swap his league leaders plate medals for grand final rings.
Saying that though in a funny way I think DA was the better coach even tho his record don't say that.

He was a legend, well to me. The guy gave us trophies galore, and many many happy memories, and many DVD's worth of good tries and attacking moves. Legend indeed, he let the good times roll and couldnt give a ratsass about the odd bad time we encountered, nor could he give a ratsass about WOMEN PR at Warrington Wolfs

| Millward was the Brian Clough of RL. His career echoed Clough's in so many ways. His career was ended by injury. He took on the establishment and they despised him for it. He was the master of mind games. His team played with peerless flair. He was extremely successful and when he was canned he appealed to the fans (who worshipped him) and attempted to divide them from the board (just as Clough did when he was sacked by Derby).

| I think it's great to have Basil back in England. I have good memories of his time at Saints - a rollercoster of a time, as people have said, but a great one even so. He had passion and energy and skill and a good bit of controversy to keep everyone on their toes. I wonder if he's mellowed with age? Apparently age does that to you.
Anyhoo. I hope he does well with Leigh. I'm sure he will. I hope he hasn't lost his controversial edge either because except for Justin Morgan's occasional liveliness the coaches seem to be a right boring lot these days so it would be great to have a bit of spice back in British RL!
