Probably, but as a player getting towards the end of their career the chance of trophies might be a big draw.

| Quote: Dux "I suspect he'll have a few more options than that.'" He'll get offers from half the teams in SL I reckon.
Given every club needs 4 first grade props, he's got the quality to add alot to any team in the SL, so if a club can afford him, they should be looking at making an offer.
I wouldn't be suprised if our tight purse strings mean we miss out on this one, but I agree that two heavy props should be our priority.
Hargreaves should be kept as 5th choice prop for squad rotation and able backrow cover (i rate him quite highly when he plays backrow).

Next Seasons pack
Not bad, its a tough back row n'all.

| We need FIVE front line props - not four.

I see Tony Puletua being use more as a prop in the future, so we will have
Graham
Tony P
Maurie
Lynch (hopefully)
Hargreaves
2/3 Lads from academy if needed

In an ideal world - no. He's too ineffectual and lacks size. I mean, I'll accept him as such for next season, but only as the very last resort.

It would be great to have that, but I suspect that, given the salary cap and the quality of the players available, the chances are slim. Apart from our '06 team I can't think of any SL side that has had 5 genuinely top drawer props at one time.
4 excellent props plus Hargreaves as a stand by would be fine IMO.

I'd like to have him on the squad to rotate with the other props so that we can give the other props a rest every few weeks, but he wouldn't be included for the big matches (like Fozzard in 06). He could also cover the back row, although the emergence of Ashurst and Dixon would suggest he's not really needed there, even when Flanders leaves and should Gilmour retire.

| I would imagine there are others club prepared to pay more than us to secure the services of someone with the pedigree of Clint Newton.

I suppose if he was here purely for the coin or for some measure of success as well.

Who's to say he couldn't secure success with another club? Put him into the Hull KR or Huddersfield team and they'd be even more difficult to beat.

| Quote: knowsley blue "I agree with Blobby I know Cayless has had a bad run with injuries but when he was fit he was awesome. I will now wait while all the " He's always been garbage, never thought he was any good " merchants come on here and show their ignorance of Rugby League.'"
Not sure anyone will come on and say that, Cayless was a dude in the NRL and a dude when we signed him, he sitll is a dude and I am gutted injury has ravaged the last 2 years for him. Jason Cayless was a sensational prop forward, and I would love to get the back end of the season out of him with no further injuries, and then see if we can take him on for one more year... i doubt it though, he seems broken.
Absolute gem of a player and a top quality signing by saints.
