TBH It was mentioned by Peter Hood at the Bulls fans forum last night. He actually put a good spin on it in terms of you guys actually growing your brand not just in this country but in places like Ireland and the US

It's a branding thing. The club is still St Helens RLFC. But the idea of it is to spread the brand far and wide. Well, perhaps as far as Scouseland.

Not sure it needs spreading here. There are plenty of cars sporting Saints paraphernalia (sp) both around here where I live (Waterloo RU territory) and further south in Liverpool itself and beyond. In fact, when Google Street View first appeared, I was looking around Goodison Park area and spotted someone wearing a Saints away strip.

....only we are not being re branded we have always been Saints and the name of the club is not changing.

I don't support Saints. I support St Helens RLFC, whose nickname happens to be Saints.

The name of the club is not changing as has been said. However, I hope we are still referred to as 'St Helens' by the media and Sky as RL is now the one thing that gives St Helens an identity.

We did used to be this, when we had RL, RU and Soccer all played at Knowsley Road, it was trashed a long time ago though.
