There's nothing wrong with a bit of sincerity mate, it's what makes our game great. After the players go at each other for 80 minutes, they shake hands and get on with being friends with each other. That is what we are doing. If you want to be a thug go and watch football.

I've no problem with Saints fans whatsoever. You're as one eyed as us lot and your passion for your side is great, but that doesn't tend to manifest itself as nastiness in the main.

I spoke to loads of Saints fans before and after the game, and every one was spot on.

But it's always like that. I don't think I've ever felt uncomfortable amongst Saints fans on game day.

Warrington fans on the other hand...

woah there fella..... where did i mention thugery? The only thugery i can see in this thread is where the male saints fan has assaulted a female in a leeds top.

All i did was comment on the new found camaraderie between saints and wigan fans... all this mutual backslapping and friendship just goes to show what a truly great game we have.

'we will help you make a few flags for your version of the ultras'
'nice to see you stayed to the end and clapped your team off'
etc etc etc.... heart warming stuff

maybe now you're all such good buddys the wigan mods will unban saddened.

Well seeing as you mention it...

Semi final two years ago - the abuse we all received from certain sections of the Warrington support was disgusting. Women in their forties effing and blinding, shouting 'karma for Mike Gregory' and getting in people's faces.

Home game against Warrington this year - one six foot five Warrington fan got in the face of a female Wigan supporter on the way out, frightening her. My mate - about 9 stone wet through - made a comment, and this 'fan' proceeded to batter him.

I'm not one of those fans who assumes that everyone who supports a club are good/bad or whatever. Every club has their 'elements', but I'm sorry to have to say it seems to be Warrington (and Hull too) every time. Sorry, but that's how it is, and until things change at Warrington, my opinion will stay that way.

the other week i was going the shop and i saw an elderly woman in a wigan top.... so i ran over to her and smashed her round the head with a house brick.... i then went through her handbag and stole her pension... lastly i poured petrol over her limp body and set fire to her.

as i walked away a load of residents came out of their houses to stick the boot in on the burning corpse.

that's how we roll in warrington lad.

I will second this.

We ended up with a couple of Saints fans on our coach (well.. double decker ) there and back.. and guess what.. no trouble at all. There was a bit of banter and a few songs but nothing malacious and both got back in one piece.

Few Saints fans on the way back after the game said well done, shook our hands and asked if we needed maps to Wembley and the whole Wigan and Saints respect for each others clubs and achievements were clear to see before/during/after the game.

Compare this to when we beat Dire in the quarters, and you had Dire fans waiting outside that pub offering us all fights and shouting abuse at the end of the game.

Wigan v Saints will always be the number 1 derby in Rugby League.
