| I was a little dubious when I heard that it was going to be Cunningham. BUT, we don't actually know how good a coach he is, we simply do not know.
I watched the Grand Final back again yesterday and watched all the stuff at the start too and Brown was very complimentary about KC's motivational qualities in an interview. Interesting to hear really. Tactical awareness will develop surely as he grows into the role. I don't think you can teach someone how to motivate.
If Long comes in as well (I think he will) then I think there is enough support there for KC. Look at Wane at Wigan. He has a great support staff there.

Wane had a very good mentor in McGuire and I think Brown will have had same effect on kc.

I'm not 100% happy with it but I remember hudds and Wigan feeling same way when Paul Anderson and Wane was put in charge

Wane has a great support staff and a better squad than saints this year, including a full set of players in crucial positions. He's won nothing this year, and often looked really poor. Getting players fired up can go so far, as he did last year on the back of McGuire influence, but that has gone now, and all he has left is his dubious motivational fire them up tactics. I'm hoping KC has more to offer than that

I think you aren't giving Wane enough credit. I think he's proved to be more than just a fire them up coach.

| Nothing would please me more than for KC to be a massively successful coach for us and he'll have my full support from the start

According to Mike Rush, it was predominently Cunningham who was responsible for the coaching in 2012.

| Quote: St pete "Exactly my thoughts but I've spoke to KC many times this year and he's got nothing but good words to say about Brown and how hard Brown works. He says he's the BEST coach he's worked under and his methods are second to none.
Brown had his knockers on here ( unreal IMO ) but anyone who knows someone at the club will tell you he's a top top coach and I hope this as rubbed off on KC.'"
Well, y'know, we don't all have the benefit of being in the 'in crowd' like you do!
I know someone who is well enough in with the Saints club that he was at the party last weekend and he holds a different view to you about Brown.
All that the rest of us mere mortals can judge on is performance and I've never been convinced. I've consistently said on here that we are a better team than many of our performances have shown and I've always believed our attitude has been the problem. And here we are, Champions. But then we showed a great attitude during the play offs. Thankfully, next season, there will be no working the system. We will have to show a good attitude throughout.

He had to work with a very different group of players in 2012. The recruitment by the club since then has been superb.
It is now younger, quicker, more balanced and more talented. Look at the players wearing 6 and 7 in 2015 and compare it to 2012. Same with the wingers. We now have a better forward pack too.

A league leaders shield, grand final win and a semi final defeat by a point to Leeds at headingley isn't a to shabby record in my mortal opinion.
Tell me, what was it Royce won ?

Our six and seven were Wilkin and Hohaia in 2012 weren't they? Gaskell was dropped once Simmons left, bar I think two matches. Much as they were last year and quite often this year as well!
Our wingers? Tommy Makinson played much of 2012 because Gardner was injured. Sadly we did still have Meli, although Simmons wisely moved him to centre, a decision Cunningham/Rush foolishly reversed.
It wouldn't surprise me to see Gardner back on the wing if Cunningham does get the job on Monday.
