I very much doubt that if Eastmond is down as the 7 for next year.

tbh there are alot of option available to us. Pryce could move into fullback and still have an influence and help out the halves and wello could get stints in the pack , we have quite a few players who can play in various positions, in Pryce's case alot including me dont think the guy IS a standoff to start with.

Yeah, but the coaches do.
Pryce won't be moving from SO to accomodate Wheeler next year unless there's a major injury crisis in the fullback position.

Plenty of scope for a decent SL career ahead, then.

He was part of the same age group. There is plenty of scope, given decent coaching and the will to learn he could be a very good SL player, certainly in the same class as Atkins at least.
Too many people appear to write off too many kids if they can't be classed as 'World class' in their first season of first team rugby. His deficiencies can quite easily be coached far more easily than the qualities he has got, like finding his way to the try line. And in the game that most people quote as his worst, Cas away, he was badly let down by Pryce inside him and Meli outside.

Perhaps he's been a victim somewhat of our other conversation topic, which is the emphasis of Superleague on defence. Had he come through in a more attacking orientated period (1996) he may well have had a field day in attack and been given more time to develop his defence to cope with SL. As it was, we chose to stick with the more solid Dean.
I would say its credit to his character that he's managing to pick himself back. After spending a decent amount of time in the reserves at CC, I think a lot of people had him totally written off.

Was like the night at KR when Sir Paul of Newlove destroyed TKL ( Toa Koa Lurv ), so much so that TKL was switched to the opposite centre to try and keep the score to less than 70 hahaha...

I played with and against this lad at amateur and academy level, and I can honestly say he was a super player and many people thought he could be a sensation in SL.
I don't know what went wrong, maybe the hype got to his head, maybe the pressure of being billed the "next best thing" got to him. Either way, he's a young lad and deserves the support of fan's.

| Very much neglected down here in Wales, and gutted he didn't stay. He'll be a top player, many people forget he's only 20. Good luck to him at Salford; we'd have him back here any time.

I used to love that about Newy ... so often he would make his opposite number look absolutely ridiculous.

Absolutely, criminally over-rated by all and sundry on here when he was barely out of nappies. His attacking threat was there for all to see in the limited time he had in our first team, and I think he may have been held back a bit last year by hardly playing in what was an important year for his development. Hopefully he can get back on track, if his defence improves we should defintiely look to have him back in future.
