If we are not up for this game, then what is the point of playing. The players have all been here long enough to know that this is the game to win. You can call the rest of the season friendlies for the playoffs. But if you don't face up in this game the team who have that passion will win.

I certainly hope we are not going to churn out just another performance against the pies this year. We have done that in previous years and got smashed.

Players say they want big games and a more competitive league, so they have to show it.

I think predictions are a mugs game when it comes to derbies. I still recall Saints going to Wigan with a relatively strong team against a team of no-body youngsters at Wigan and we got turned over.

If we have the right attitude we will win, if not we will get smashed again.

I predict that I will have no voice come full time - can't wait.

In terms of the game itself, the kicking game will be absolutely vital, just as in every big game. We simply can't afford to kick to the likes of Tomkins and Charnley - especially when coming out of our own half. I think we a slight advantage up front, but Wigan are devastating when they shift it to the edges, and we can't afford to give them field position on a regular basis.

Hopefully we make the North Stand bounce, and if we perform to the level we know we are capable of, we will be in with a shot.
