I doubt wheeler will play next week.
He never seems to play.

| Quote: steve "It about time wilkin remembers which team he plays for and got is backside onto the pitch. He doesnt work for the BBC he plays for saints and he could give us an option at 6. In his interview in the programme about 2 weeks ago he said he didnt have a match in mind when he should be returning!!!!
Players with broken legs and arms have returned sooner than him.
There is nobody pushing theys boys back on the pitch never got this with Anderson!'"
Cant agree with you there pal. All players want to play and being injured is frustrating. Wilkin will play when the medical team say he can and not before, playing players against medical advice is stupid for both the player and the club

Or Foster on the Wing and lomax in at 6 - I think he was a halfback at junior levels, I think Rogues would confirm it.

A real shame tbh - it would be good to let him get some game time in the halves

| with a little bit of luck we will have pryce playing, if not i think potter will go with roby and moore at halfback if KC is back.
I doubt wheeler will be back, lomax at halfback is a option if meli returns but i'd expect lomax to be injured if he plays halfback as he, wheeler and kyle don't seem tough enough for super leage as yet, every week they are picking up little knocks.
It is a shame we can't get these kids on field every week as i think they can be top class players. I would pick lomax on the wing over ade every week.

I agree but as long as Ade's got the big contract I cant see him being dropped into the u20's. Speaking of which does he have another year to run?

It would be great just yto give him any game time!
I know he's a young lad but it's starting to be a worrying problem with wheeler now, i know he's only young but it is starting to be a worry.
With having a few of our pack out i don't think it helps having flannery in the centre as we need him in the pack. I know dean came on to play centre but he ain't got much in attack like wheeler.

Not sure when he's off contract, i hope at the end of the year. I have backed ade for years when saints fans bagged him but i can't defend him anymore.
Both he and meli struggle with any kind of kick but at least meli has something to offer as he is a good runner of the ball, gardner has nothing to offer the team at all anymore. He struggles with any sort of kick, no pace, can't beat a man. He is pretty good finisher near the line and is ok in defence but IMO that ain't good enough.

You are spot on there. The medical team advised that Wilkin should not play for another week or so. That was a couple of weeks or so ago so I don't think he will be too long before he gets back on the pitch. I would rather him be 100% than struggle for the rest of the season because he came back too early.

| Lomax is traditionally a 6 - that's certainly a better option than playing roby in the 1/2s.
As for pryce, I got a protruding disk in a similarly innocuous incident and ended up in an awful way. He just seemed to twist funny around his middle.

| According to the RL press this morning, Bryn Hargreaves also suffered an injury at Leeds (bicep). They suggested that Meli, Wheeler and Tony P [imight[/i be back for Catalans, but Potter has not stated this as a certainty. Assuming no-one returns next week, we have the following players missing:
Cunningham (out for a few weeks apparently)
Puletua
Hargreaves
Maurie
Wilkin
Soliola
Wheeler
Eastmond
Pryce
Meli
Have I missed anyone out?
How are we expected to play? That's almost our whole first choice team out. It's just ridiculous.

| Back in the days of the 75-0 result, I was categorically told that Wigan fans could not use their injury list of 11 first-teamers plus 1 cup-tied player as any kind of excuse.
Whilst I don't expect any 75-0 style results against you, the same rule should apply...
What do you need, 1 more win to guarantee a play-off spot?

In the face of a lost, quoting injuries is mere consolation, allowing us to believe things will go better next time.
In actual fact, I'd suggest Saints and Leeds injuries were at a similar level of severity. It was 3 injuries on the day that did for us,which you can't legislate for, you just have to take it on the chin.
