Whilst agree on principle, clubs like Saints, Wigan and Leeds bring through enough British talent to go out and get imports when needed. Knowing McManus plan and vision for the club, if there was a good enough British alternative available he would go for them if the cap allowed.

| Quote Rommel="Rommel"If he was the No19 he's like Barry Ward mk2
No way would i have him over Greenwood.
'"
Greenwood is a second row and Brown is a (rotund looking) prop? Unless your saying Greenwood is putting on 3 stone in the offseason! I actually wouldn't mind Greenwood putting on a few extra kilos and pushing forward to the front row, it might be the short term solution to our prop problem...
As for "less overseas" claims we've released 4 non-fed players this year and signed 2 - signing another one still leaves us moving in the right direction compared to a lot of clubs! Still we can't be as good as Wigans negotiating, signing Patrick and Brough from Huddersfield and all huddersfield get is Taylor on loan for 12 months

That would be ironic

Out of the five released I would say Tim Moltzen is what we need. OK he is the obvious one and would demand a decent wage but he is a very talented player. I think Leeds were sniffing round him not too long ago.

| Quote SomersetSaint="SomersetSaint"We already have Flanagan as an ex Wigan back row utility player, we don't need another in Allen. Gallen has played his best footy at 13? We have enough competition there without another back rower cum prop like laffranchi.'"
Gallen might have worn 13 but he's a prop - the blokes a tank with a great engine on him. He's also a winner and isnt scared of a bit of biff. I've love him in our team even if he wouldnt be a long term fix age wise. His current suspension is a farce

| Whilst I'd be extremely happy to pick up a decent prop (giving us a real bruiser of a pack next season) - I am a little concerned about the hooking position.
Roby is good for a few years yet and Lance can always cover. But a good schemer rotating with Roby and in conjunction with this pack is a tempting prospect.
It would extend Roby's career. And we need that.

Do we need a bruiser with the mighty enforcer that took the whole Wigan and Catalan team on in the great Mose Masoe ?
We need a prop that can play more than 10 mins as Mose and also walmsley don't do long mins which leaves us with Amor to do all the hard yards.
I wish somebody would tell Mose that he can help Amor out with doing the hard yards out of our half.

Now I know why I rarely bother posting on message boards.
Like TV they lobotomise people.
Since when did recruiting a fifth prop (type unmentioned) combining to form a [i"bruiser of a pack"[/i amount to a desire to recruit a [i"bruiser"[/i?
Oh, that's right - in [iI've-been-busted-for-my-stupidity-and-vanity-demands-I-continue-the-argument-across-multiple-threads[/i land.
