I think the video ref should be allowed to talk to refs throughout the match without necessarily having to watch 300 replays to make a decision.

I liked the rule in aus whereby if the video ref couldn't see anything conclusive within a couple of replays then the on field decision stood.

I don't mind going to the video ref, but I feel they over complicate it far too much and take too long.

Put yourself in his shoes. Your ref in a big challenge cup game live on the tv. You've already gone to the video ref 4 times at least during the game, it's last few mins and Brough hits a drop goal that is clearly close to the post, it's gone higher than the sticks (which makes it harder to judge), your gut feeling is it's missed but Brough and hudds celebrate.

By going to the video ref, it gives them a better look at it and it also takes the pressure off you. It's simple IMO.

The best view was from the camera behind the posts as its dead centre. The drop goal should have been allowed but sometimes you get the calls and others you don't. The poor part was not going to the video ref, there was no excuse for that at such a crucial stage of the game.

I just can't believe he didn't go to the video ref. He used him all day and didn't on the most important call of the match.

I think Brough needs to sit down and watch how Luke Walsh executes a drop goal.

They made a reference to the rules in the commentary if I remember right & I think it was Jonathan Davies who said that if the ball goes over level with the post but too high then it is regarded as going over.

I only saw the last 20 minutes so can't comment yet on the other video ref decisions. The sending off was correct, but I think it was a tackle that went wrong (no intent) as Ferres was trying to turn Lomax on his back. However it did finish up being dangerous and he should get a minimum three game ban.
