Tomkins had a decent game, I don't think anybody can reach the standards he has set every week. Still the best FB on the field. He was quiet for his high standards but still had a good game.

A player of the standard you and some in the media thinks he is will never have a 'quiet game' at a final; that will be the exact game when he will be dominant. Sam was 'quiet' against the Exiles too. He's 'quiet' against any team who actually bring a defence with them because although he is undoubtedly a good player, he is not the level of good that the recent hype has stated he is.

That he was the best fb on the field is something I do agree with. But that really isn't a compliment as Webb was pants.

I am sure half you never read some post completely, did I condone what he did, NO! I said he was in the wrong, yes it was discussed on TV which shows Our Game in a bad light but the reaction here and on one of the Super League facebook sites is totally over the top, a warning had to be given on facebook not for the first time about the language and sick comments a site that young followers of the game read, so I point the Finger of Guilt at much at Sam and posters who go OTT and have Rants. It is creeping into our game sadly more and more.

So he makes a rude gesture to the crowd and therfore proves that he has a childish mentality to go along with his undoubted football ability.
He also winds you posters up to the degree that some actually hate him. His Club should deal with it, if they dont then they must have the same mentality as he has.
Get over it.

Isn't a person supposed to be over 18 to go on Facebook? If I have that right - and I don't know whether I do because while I tweet I don't do Facebook - then the issue is a parental one and not one for other users of Facebook to consider.

Not that I condone what was said on Facebook. Not that I know what was said on Facebook. But if it was bad then I don't condone it!

Tomkins was wrong, but if you was him and you were booed for wearing an England shirt with pride, would it not be possible for you to forget your status and public icon figure for a moment whilst caught up in the heat and passion of probably rugby leagues most passionate contest and maybe vent your anger/protests towards them?

I don't condone it but surely some people can see why he's done it?

No the minimum age for facebook is 13! but you know as well as me that so many younger kids will go on facebook, it is easy to say it is down to parental control, even under age young people go in pubs, how do you stop younger people unless you put a leash on them, I feel on any website you can debate without having to be offensive or a bully but sadly it is creeping into Our Game of Rugby League and at grounds as well, it is no use hiding behind Parental Control, most of the offenders are adults and should know better.

First of all I'm not a Wire fan, but if I was my thoughts would be the same, any kind of misdemenour should be dealt with by the player's club. I have no axe to grind in the matter, if a player behaves in that manner he should be prepared to take the consequences.
