A Catalans break leads to an attempted chip forward which is claimed by Kyle Eastmond who counters and takes the ball forward to half way.

Scott Moore comes on for Tony Puletua, hopefully he can cause the same impact he's had in recent weeks. On the second tackle an expansive play by Saints sees the ball thrown into touch off a long miss ball.

Meli makes a break down the left hand side and powers his way over in the corner. The territory came from a Catalans mistake on their 20m line and is punished by Saints. Foster with his second from the touchline makes it 12 - 6.

Kyle Eastmond with another great kick return and a gain of 30m puts Saints in good field position. Jonny Lomax with a good kick on the last and a good chase sees Catalans pinned back well within their own half.

All the good work is undone when Saints' markers are caught not standing square, Catalans now 30m out from the Saints line.

James Roby makes a fantastic break and gets through plenty of Catalans players. Saints panic and Scott Moore throws a wide ball to Michael Shenton who drops the ball under pressure, Scott Moore should of perhaps had more patience.

Catalans knock on after a big kick from Lee Gaskell sees Catalans deep in their own half. Saints now have possession 20m out.

Saints get a penalty and with half time looming choose to go for the penalty, this gives Saints an 8 point lead and a 2 try cushion.

Half time hooter goes and Saints go in 14 - 6 ahead.

We're looking ok for the lead. Catalan have blown a couple of chances but on the whole we've had better field position and threatened more, mainly down the left with Kyle, Melissa and foster. They're showing better line speed in defence. Steve Menzies officially owns Jon Wilkin.
