Guile of any description we sorely miss. We don't have a single player now who has shown any kind of guile at all. That, a leader and wingers who can fly are our needs.

There was a rumour about Karl Pryce not so long ago - exactly the wrong type of player for us. We're never going to start winning the big finals again with players who lack heart.

| Quote: Offside Monkey "Kevin Iro & Paul Newlove in the centres. Jeezy Creasy.
Chris Joynt, Paul Sculthorpe, Freddie & Apollo, the quality went right through the squad.
The Bryn Hargreaves equivelent in that Squad was Sonny Nickle, which shows the difference.
We even had Vila for when the poop hit the fan. I remeber him having a dust up with Darren Fleary and cracking him right on the end of the nose. We when ref was discussing it with the lines men, all you could hear on the mike was Vila giving it "C'mon D'k'ed, what's up d'k'ed"
Not a squad you could get under a salary cap, though and how long we could have feasibly paid a squad with that many stars, I'm not sure.
We did also have Tommy Martyn, who's guile is sorely missed.'"
Throw in Sullivan, a young Wellens and KC at his peak and you realise what a ridiculous team that was. I think we were always short of a prop in those days though.
The Millward approach was great when it worked, dreadful when it didn't. We did some amazing things, and really believed in ourselves (something we seem to have lost these days), but our discipline with the ball was horrendous at times and our defence was erratic. His last two seasons fizzled out in a manner which would have had our current breed of supporters wielding pitchforks and frothing at the mouth.

Karl Pryce at his best is a battering ram in the 3/4 and would be devestating in the centre's for us . The problem is he hasnt been at his best for a long time and he looks like he cant be bothered half the time.

Despite the fantastic signings of Fairleigh and Britt, as the guys above left, we didn't replacethem well and ended up forcing players like Stankevich, Jonkers & Sheils into the front row, which was rubbish.

Props win Pots. 2006 - Cayless, Baloo, Fozzard, Jammer and Maurie
THAT was a scary front row.

Now we're looking at Jammer, Teddy (good nick name, josh), Tony P & LMS, which considering the constriants of a slary cap, is as good as you can ask for imo.

I don't think there is a better front four in SL.

I think next years front row is potentially equal to 2006's front row, which is immense. If we keep them all fit we'll be top 2 easy

Depends really. Perry looked terrible at the end of last season. ZERO go forward and was tossed around with embarassing ease. I hope it was due to him comming back from an injury. Graham looks disienterested and his head is obv in Australia. With regards Tony P, it depends which Tony P turns up, the lazy cba Tony P of 2009 or the, at times devastating Tony P of last season. LMS is vastly overated.
Wigans front row will once again set the bar, and by a huge way

The Troll Strikes again.
Your either joking or just a t!t with no idea what your going on about. Perry is an Aussie test prop and Graham is the best british prop by a country mile. LMS has alot of potential and and Tony P was immense for us at times last season. Lima at Wigan will be a big step up for them but no front row in England worry's me if we keep our 4 fit

Can I just point out that this is one of the biggest distortions of truth that have appeared on this forum in the past two years. Puletua was comfortably our second best yardage making forward that year and was 8th overall in the league in metres made. Only Graham, Peacock and Lynch made more yards as a forward that season. I believe the fallacy first arose from posts by less observant fans on Saints forums, including this one. He had a good year for us this year but in 2009 he made more yards, more breaks, more tackle busts, scored more tries and made more tackles. Again, you obviously don't know what you're talking about.

Well, yeah, but apart from that, what has Tony P ever done for us?

As you imply tony p has been immense for us, our best forward import in many years, I hope he extends his stay
