Saints where by far the best team in the first half. Wigan's first try shouldn't have been given due to a knock on in the build up. It wasn't picked up by the ref though. That try gave them a lift going into the dressing room.
Saints didn't play well in the second half at all. Had chances but didn't take them. We missed Morgan Knowles when he went off with concussion. Got to praise Wigan though because they upped their game in the second 40 and took their opportunities.
The semi finals are pretty much sorted out now. It will be Wigan vs Warrington and Saints vs Hull FC. Saints haven't lost to Hull this season but the last time the goons played Warrington, wire came out on top.

Wigans best player was their number 6, he ran everything for them and he was a decent goal kicker as well, saints half backs were poor and over reliant on the big props who tired at the end. There's not much between the two teams from what I've seen

That would be Jake Shorrocks. Wigan will have quite a dilemma in the next 2/3 years. Hampshire - Williams - Shorrocks, we won't be able to keep them all, unless we move Williams to #9. |
