Bill Ashurst and Brian Hogan. Proper villains. In an era when there were some real thugs about, these two were stand outs. Hogan was almost a pantomime baddie and would play to the crowd - for those of you who can remember, he was the Mick MacManus of Rugby League!

1 - Terry Newton. Absolute scum, the only player I've ever seen who made multiple attempts to maim someone in the same game.

I'm struggling beyond that. Andy Farrell was very arrogant as a player, but he was decent when he finally accepted he wasn't a half back and played at prop. I can't really think of anyone else, I always liked Connolly despite his move and they've not had that many obvious hate figures and I'm not the type to hate someone because they are good.

Edwards and Offiah for that smug nodding celebration they used to do.

Too many others to mention....but got to include Panface, Connolly, Cowie, Skerrett and Newton in my top 10.

You really hate the fact that he's a winner, unlike FGB Graham the cry baby former captain of team of grand final losers.

This is why im an aussie for the day.

No we hate him as he is a cheap shot merchant who goes into hiding when it comes down to the rought stuff,he did it against Wigan at the weekend when Luaki fronted up to him he went missing.Watching Scully sort him out was priceless.

No he didn't, he wound up Luaki so much he (Luaki) made mistakes

He is a cheap shot coward who likes to attack players from behind (probably a technique mastered from his time in Armley nick) or when they are on the floor, yet as soon as they retaliate he runs away pr hides behind his teammates

When Leeds got the penalty against Lauaki on Saturday, and front rower with bottle would have taken the ball in first drive, not stood on the other side of the pitch like he did. And as for him being a "winner" compared to Graham, only one of the two has won every trophy in the English game, SL Young Player of the Year, Man of Steel and won a contract in the NRL...

Back on topic, Newton was the only Wigan player I actually hated for reasons other than they were awesome players that played for our rivals and not us...so therefore my top 3 would be:

1. Terry Newton - cheap shot thug
2. Shaun Edwards - too good and destroyed us on many occasions
3. Andy Farrell - tough player who always seemed to play well against us, couldnt like him as he was captain of Wigan
